Graphic Designer

Develop highly engaging concepts and layouts for a wide variety of interactive marketing initiatives that help higher education institutions find and enroll students. This includes but is not limited to, websites, micro-sites, landing pages, email campaigns, multimedia presentations, and rich media banners, often under tight deadlines, that generate response, engagement and ultimately quantifiable results.

We’re looking for an accomplished direct response designer/developer (the ability to both design and code is key). Assuming ownership of design assets across all marketing channels and verticals, you will translate copy into impactful creative that will be constantly tested and expanded upon to drive ROI, increased responses, retention, engagement, etc. as required. This also means producing and expanding work based on existing campaigns to optimize campaign performance. In addition, you must be adept at responsive design, which you will apply to landing pages and full sites; know how to create animated banners (both gif and flash) that adhere to IAB standard sizes; and be proficient in producing HTML emails that work across all platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

Ideate, create and code banners, landing pages, emails, web pages, site designs and other creative materials as needed, following respective best practices
Keep up to date on direct marketing and web design trends and technologies to recommend ways to enhance the creative team’s effectiveness and expedite speed to market
Work closely with Creative Director to develop breakthrough creative based on internal tests and industry trends
Collaborate on strategic initiatives with marketing; disseminate information across channels, lead strategic creative meetings
Organize, manage and disseminate creative intelligence throughout the creative team and marketing organization.
Maintain creative repository and periodically provides cross-departmental email notification of new creative concepts for consideration

Critical Core Competencies:

Superior design skills (best practices, web trends, typography, texture, color and patterns) and strategic thinker with ability to create response-driven concepts
Must possess ability to creatively problem solve, work independently and have “get it done” attitude
Ability to manage priorities and a heavy workload with tight turnarounds while maintaining the highest standards of quality
Talent to generate creative ideas in a highly collaborative environment
Meticulously detail oriented; ability to keep cool under pressure while working with varying levels and personalities
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly communicate ideas, decisions, and reasoning to a non-technical audience is vital
Strong work ethic and excellent organizational, project management and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working in a professional office environment


BA/BFA in design
Master of Adobe's Creative Suite 5.5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver and InDesign)
Ability to hand-code validating, standards-based HTML and CSS
Proficiency with Flash and ActionScript
Knowledge of limitations of XML/XSL, ASP, JavaScript
Knowledge of jQuery and responsive design required
Knowledge of landing page platforms like Optimizely is a plus
Understanding of browser compatibility issues, web design constraints, email deliverability a plus
Prior supervisory experience desired
At least 3+ years directly related experience
Online portfolio required; submissions without portfolios will not be considered
Travel up to 20%
