Graphic Designer

One of Vitamin T's favorite clients needs a Graphic Designer! This is a 3 month contract set to start immediately.

The Graphic Designer will be assigned design-focused projects and completely own the process. These projects will support specific marketing channels like emails that require unique knowledge base and skill set, site or HP graphics that aren’t compounded with major Photography Production needs, and other task-based design challenges that occur throughout the month, apart from the anticipated special events calendar. They will also work closely with Editorial studio and copy teams to create unique online sales experiences and other designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Design, document and deliver timely web and ad designs for a variety scenarios while maintaining the brand and interactive best practices.

· Own design and production responsibilities on projects – beginning design concept to end product.

· Management of own day-to-day work. Maintain deadlines and look for areas of improvement.

· Create storyboards and spec sheets as appropriate for animating ads.

· Team up and work closely with copywriters on the creation of new concepts.

· Incorporate best practice findings into designs. Work closely with marketing to determine improvements.

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other designers to continuously improve and innovate.

· Identify areas of improvement and create unique, innovative solutions to improve the customer experience and drive revenue.

· Develop concepts to finished designs with iterations and direction/feedback from leaders (Creative Lead, Designer, Supervisor, or Manager), to a high degree of quality and solution oriented design thinking, with some level of ambiguity and autonomy. Maintain brand standards while pursuing unique design solutions to accomplish business and project objectives. Collaborate with business partners to determine goals and experts to determine course of action

· Communicate and understand the needs for each project. This includes direct communication with the mobile and web teams as well as marketing to ensure all items are uploaded properly and on brand.

· Reports back to supervisor and Creative Leads on conclusions, successes, and lessons learned in order to better processes and lower cost and design time.

· Occasional communication and presentation of work with key project stakeholders and experts across Creative, Merch, Marketing and Site teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years experience in Web and online ad design and a solid understanding of the relationship between content, visual design, user interface and technology is required.

· 2+ years of Layout, typographic and interactive design for web

· Exhibit stylistic breadth, consistency, attention to detail balanced with beauty and innovation.

· Be able to effectively design with the brand at top of mind.

· Understanding and appreciation of Web technologies and trends.

· Visual design skills necessary and outstanding design portfolio

· Strong proficiency with type, layout and image composition

· Demonstrated Mastery of Adobe Photoshop

· Calm under pressure, can excel and thrive in a high-volume environment

· Understands balance of quality and quantity

· A general understanding of Adobe Illustrator
