Graphic Designer

Our client is looking for a Graphic Designer to join their team on a contract to hire assignment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Design and oversee production of marketing collateral materials that reflect and incorporate the brand and graphic design standards.
Collateral Materials
• Oversee graphic design and production of firm brochures.
• Design and coordinate the production of collateral materials distributed in promo packets and RFP responses, at external events, and through mailings. Materials include program flyers, save the dates and invitations, posters, binder covers, checklists, and more.
• Design Word templates for use in formatting RFP responses, articles, practice group descriptions, biographies, newsletters, and other materials used in business development.
• Coordinate the design of the holiday and new year’s cards.
• Create visually effective PowerPoint templates for seminars, and promotional pitches to clients and prospects. The presentations should utilize the advanced features of PowerPoint, while maintaining consistency in format and branding in the corporate identity.
• Conduct image research for designed materials for events, presentations, invitations, etc.
• Work with other department administrators and the marketing manager on the development of branded materials for non-marketing related projects, including benefits brochure, recruiting materials, event invitations, etc.
• Work with the administrative assistant to review and proof all stationery orders (letterhead, business cards, memo pads, envelopes, labels, etc.). Keep the DC senior marketing manager apprised of any significant changes or developments. As needed, make design changes to the stationery templates.
• Design advertisements, both template-based and original creative, for program brochures, print and electronic publications, directories, etc.
• As needed, provide design input on enhancements to company website and marketing intranet page.
• Monitor the use of the company logo and other internal and external branded materials distributed by the company to ensure that the “brand” is maintained and communicated following company design standards and other formatting criteria.
• Maintain effective working relationships with vendors, outside design agencies, consultants, and professional peers.

Administrative
• Obtain and manage all photo rights for rights-managed imagery.
• Organize, archiving as appropriate, electronic and print graphic files and materials.
• Work with director and marketing manager on calculating the annual graphic design expenditures in the marketing budget.
• Select and monitor printing and design vendors to manage costs and ensure high quality.
• Assist with the design implementation of new firm templates.
• Develop design guidelines, as needed, for new collateral materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Bachelors degree preferred with advanced graphic design training. At least two years of experience as a professional graphic designer in a corporate setting.
2. Experience and training in typography, print layout and design, and the printing and production process.
3. Ability to work on a PC platform environment. Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Quark Express, document management software, and font management software.
4. Ability to create original designs.
5. Excellent proofreading skills.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with outside vendors, and administrative and support staff.
7. Ability to work under pressure, meet frequent and short deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
