Graphic Designer

This role is for a talented designer whose first love is print but is just as happy to work in digital and merchandise. The candidate should be passionate about the role of visual communication in exciting and motivating an audience to embrace the product.

You will help our Brand Lead develop and expand the beautiful new identities we have developed for both internally and for our main product. You will be joining a team of colleagues who challenge and inspire each other to constantly push for greatness.

You will need to have an extremely keen eye for the finest detail. We are aiming to compete with the industry leaders at all our touch-points so all designers will need to be world class, full of ideas and have an energy to be the best.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

To create designs for marketing and communications materials: print, presentations, digital, merchandise and events

To lead and deliver how we communicate visually by interpreting briefs and delivering stunning visual representations for the business.

To be able to create numerous visuals for the business to discuss, rationalise and select for further development.

Develop tools and guides that help people best deliver and use the images you deliver.

To aid in instilling the internal design ethic by continually selling in design and creating beautiful visuals.

Required skills and experience

The Visual Designer must be a world­ class creative and free thinker who will be able to turn their hand to a wide variety of creative projects – digital, desktop, product, brand, website, print, digital assets etc.

For the business and the brand to be recognised as a world leader in design and customer experience, the role holder must be able to create concepts and stunning visuals across all the above, and then take the concepts and work them up to their full and fine detail, from which, detailed user interface and interaction specifications can be written.

Experience as a Visual Designer in either Agency or Freelance environments.

Candidates must have a proven track record in producing stunning concepts and converting these into final artworks

Highly proficient and intimate knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign

Desirable skills and experience

To be skilled in a variety of opensource applications such as Inkscape and Gimp.

To have experience of working within an opensource community

To continually bring ideas from any industry to the table for discussion and development.

To be involved in the professional and academic design community

To be aware of new talent and new ideas in the design community
