Graphic Designer

  • Maintain company image and brand identity in all design projects while meeting customer needs and increasing customer understanding and satisfaction.
  • Brainstorm and develop creative concepts while identifying solutions and potential problems to ensure successful implementation of the concepts.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members to identify market objectives and the strategies to meet them for a variety of projects.
  • Adhere to routing and proofing schedules for all design projects to ensure meeting deadlines.

    Major responsibilities and duties: Print Design:

  • Design electronic page layouts for catalog and direct mail pieces. Efficiently create assigned projects from concept through finished product.
  • Work closely with merchandising managers and merchandising staff to design catalog pages and collateral printed pieces that meet market objectives and strategies.
  • Prepare and preflight page files for prepress with the ability to review chromes for appropriate color accuracy and make necessary changes.
  • Working knowledge of web design for emails and static pages a plus.

  • Identify, organize, and pull stock for photo shoots.
  • Hire models, scout locations, and work directly with photographer to ensure artistic and merchandising effectiveness with awareness of technical accuracy.
  • Art direct both in-use (location) and studio photography.

  • Thorough knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Working knowledge of asset/content management systems, QuarkXpress and Acrobat a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of design methods and techniques for direct response and business-to-business catalog publication.
  • Working knowledge of prepress, printing and bindery processes.
  • Art direction skills and the ability to work with photography staff to professionally create visuals, and correctly and clearly represent products are required. Personal photography skills are a plus
  • General understanding of the brands position in the marketplace, customer base, brand identity, and a willingness to promote and protect the brand.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment where attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously is critical.

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in graphic design-related fields such as Graphic Design, Fine Art, or Visual Communications.
  • Or a minimum of two to three years catalog or direct response graphic and web design experience.
