One of our Fortune 500 companies here in NY are looking for a motivated mid-level and team oriented designer who would like to build a career in their in-house creative agency of the organization. They looking for someone who does not mind working on a variety of different projects, likes the idea of delving into the intricacies of a brand, and is assertive but friendly -- everyone checks their egos at the door here and we look for people that have the same philosophy! Ability to take initiative and work well with others is key, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

On the talent/technical skills side, a solid eye for typography, composition and color, ability to both handle smaller tasks as well as larger projects, and proficient in the "big 3" (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

The range is in the low 60s for this position (40 hours/week). Additionally, They offer a full suite of benefits should the candidate join our team permanently (medical, dental, 401K, discounts, paid time off etc.).


Responsibilties:

• Design and produce a range of print and interactive projects including posters, advertisements, direct mail, corporate identity pieces, landing pages design, email blasts and web graphics
• Follow creative work through from concept to pre-press and production
• Interact with internal clients; work closely with marketing, product and production teams to develop and implement design solutions
• Manage own project workflow while coordinating with project teams and management on schedules, requirements, goals and assignments as needed
• Help to ensure successful representation of the Kaplan brand across media
• Juggle various projects and handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced, agency-like environment


Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in design or related field
• Exceptional portfolio that showcases solid conceptual, color and layout skills; superior typographical skills an absolute must
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong concept development and problem-solving skills
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Pre-press/production experience
• Highly organized and dependable; able to multitask, work quickly and meet multiple deadlines
• Detail-oriented, resourceful and excellent follow-through
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with seasoned creative and marketing teams
• Professional work ethic and a team player
