Designer - Graphic Designer

A global e-commerce company located in Seattle is looking for a talented, customer-focused graphic designer to join their web retail design team for a three month contract. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver clean, web-ready designs based on existing styleguides and Brand guidelines in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, web expertise, intrinsic design ability, typographic skills, and acute attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with key stakeholders is essential.

This manifests itself through visual design, branding, photography, video, and user experience design. They are responsible for branding and the creative development of style guides for a wide range of services, features, and categories (Books, Electronics, Home, Kitchen, Private Label Products, and many more) for retail programs in North America. They apply strategic insight to delight customers - driving discovery, engagement, and trust. They are growing quickly and hiring the best.

The ideal candidate would be highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic person who works well under pressure and can thrive in a deadline driven atmosphere. They must have a strong individual sense of aesthetics and be able to bring stylish, elevated ideas to the retail brand space. In addition, they should have the ability to deliver clean, web-ready designs based on existing style guides and brand guidelines in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, digital expertise, intrinsic design abilities, typographic skills, and acute attention to detail. Not only do you have the technical skills and a killer portfolio to back it up, you function as conceptual thinker that can contribute to larger multi-channel campaigns. The ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with key stakeholders is essential. 

Responsibilities: 
• Designing strongly branded promotional graphics • Digital and print experience to create content for multiple business teams • Crafting moodboards, concepts and shopping experiences for retail categories • Building templates and documentation around style guides and campaign work • Fulfilling multiple project requests while simultaneously meeting tight deadlines • Acting as design liaison between design and retail category business team • Work with the Art Directors to develop campaign concepts for new products and services 

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4-year minimum experience in a web production environment • Digital and print experience • BA/BS in Design or equivalent • Excellent Adobe Photoshop skills • Great compositional and typographical skills • Strong communication skills • Self-motivated and capable of working independently 

PREFERRED: 
• Experience working with a design style guide or branding guidelines • Experience in photo art direction and photo shoots • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to gracefully defend your design decisions • Illustration experience • Knowledge of information architecture, usability, and UI Design
