Graphic Designer - Temporary

This is a temporary assignment starting at the end of January 2017, extending to mid-May.

The Graphic Designer will have advanced knowledge of current graphic design and document processing software, to conceptualize and develop high quality, compelling, on-brand and accurate design solutions
for end-user deliverables under the guidance of the Content Coordinator and Creative Services Manager. The key to this job is to be fast and accurate and to be a whiz at InDesign, Word, PPT and Excel, some Photoshop, some Illustrator

Job Competencies
• Bachelor of Fine Arts degree preferred with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Must have strong knowledge of PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software.
• Must have a working knowledge of MS Office Suite & Adobe Acrobat software.
• Exemplary aptitude and proven ability for use of the English language with regard to sentence structure, punctuation, paragraph formation, grammar and proofreading skills.
• Ability to use existing design elements to create branded, high-quality, and visually cohesive deliverables.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instruction.
• Organizational and time-management skills to prioritize a heavy individual workload to meet required deadlines.
• Ability to produce a large volume of creative products in a demanding environment while maintaining a high level of work-product quality.
• Ability to understand when to work independently and when to involve other Creative Service Associates.
• Ability to work short-notice overtime hours on an as-needed basis.
• High-level verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility.
• Willingness and ability to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the graphic design profession by successful completion of extended classes and workshops related to graphic design.

Job Responsibilities
• Design high-quality projects, ensuring error-free products by following established proofreading procedures, operating system spell check, and using available reference materials for proper grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
• Design pieces such as: RFPs, “placemats,” reports, flyers, presentations, infographics, e-mail blasts, event materials, posters, team charts, bios and newsletters.
• Oversee production of project from inception to final printing.
• Communicate project status and deadlines to management to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner during personal absences.
• Conform to client standards for formatting and quality and uphold Client brand standards as well as look and feel.
• Communicate with Associates to resolve any questions concerning project assignments to ensure product meets or exceeds expectations.
• Meet required deadlines and strive to improve customer service on a consistent basis.
• Communicate with Associates and coworkers in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive and pleasant work environment.
• Understands and utilizes company-wide resources to improve quality and brand consistency.
• Exercise independent judgment in interpreting instructions and suggest changes to author as needed to produce a quality document.
• Cross train to learn all aspects of Creative Services and take initiative to gain knowledge of Client's service areas and practice groups.
• Ensure all assigned documents are properly logged prior to delivery to author.
• Prepare documents for prepress when working with outside print vendors.
• Remains current in the graphic design industry; identifying new trends, techniques
and shortcuts.
• Perform other work-related responsibilities as assigned.
