Graphic Designer - Jewelry Packaging

POSITION: Freelance Graphic Designer for Jewelry Packaging 
Reports to: Sr. Visual Manager 
Hours: Project Basis Only- approximately 15 - 30 hours per project 

Looking for a fashion minded print designer, who is experienced in creating beautiful paper products, designing layouts for simple packaging, and has an eye for typography and color theory. 

Responsibilities include: 
• The majority of projects will be specific to designs for jewelry cards and packaging. 
• Collaborate with designers, message master and VP of Brand Creative to produce creative direction and ideas for jewelry groups presented in a style guide format. 
• Depending on projects, samples or execution of a design from concept to production ready art may be needed. 
• Understanding of jewelry scale, package functionality, customer usage, and how product merchandises in displays on the store level a must. 
• Work with product images, elements and photography and maintain standards for fonts and colors within the context of the brand. 


Required Skills / Qualifications: 
• MAC wizard. Intermediate / Advanced use of Adobe including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. 
• Greeting card, packaging and/or paper product design experience preferred. 
• Must have strong composition and layout skills. 
• Knowledge and experience with the pre-press process and ability to work closely with print vendors a plus. 
• An understanding of color theory & font treatments specific to print. 
• Understand fashion trends and aesthetics to be able to translate a modern, current point of view into compelling visuals that align with the brand.
