Graphic Artist

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Works with marketing department and other internal clients to design graphics

and marketing materials in a variety of projects, including, but not limited to,

brochures, flyers, programs, signage, logos and web/email graphics.

• Sends finished designs to in-house print shop.

• Reviews and distributes printed proofs to relevant internal clients.

• Supports Marketing Department’s goals and objectives for overall marketing of

AAAE and products and services.

• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge:

The Graphic Artist will need a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Communication

Arts (or equivalent work experience); 2-3 years experience in print design; general and

thorough understanding of design methodologies, typography, layout, and color;

expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud suite, especially InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator and

Photoshop. Strong project management, communication and customer service skills with

proven success in working with collaborative projects are a must.

Physical environment/working conditions:

Typical office setting.

Typical mental demands:

Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work

situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.

Must be able to analyze many variables and guide the internal clients in working with the

most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in time. Must

handle diverse work issues on a daily basis. Must be able to communicate providing

verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be capable in a fast-paced environment

and work well with short deadlines.

Typical physical demands:

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to

operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the

telephone and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

Equipment/machinery used:

Standard office equipment.

Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information):

Occasional outside vendor contact.
