Reporting to the Strategic Business Segment General Manager for the Oligos product portfolio, the Global Product Manager will be responsible for managing revenue, margin and new product strategy for the custom oligonucleotide business. They will develop and implement global business initiatives with an emphasis on oligonucleotides while driving revenue and profitability targets, price setting/margin strategies, new product introductions, and providing day-day product sustaining management.
Produce and manage the client’s custom oligonucleotide business strategy including market outlook, competitive assessment and opportunity prioritization.
Build business plan with global operations network to support product line strategy and financial viability; present to senior management.
Develop new product utilizing the Product Commercialization Process.
Apply PPI (Practical Process Improvement) to the custom oligonucleotide business processes.
Provide vision to cross functional internal teams based on market dynamics, geographic regions, customer segmentation, and competition.
Ensure the successful handoff from new product development to market development after launch/commercialization of product.
Manage full product lifecycle including product discontinuation strategies to ensure seamless customer experience and smooth revenue transition.
Manage to revenue and margin targets for the global business.
Capture and track results. Partner with regional marketing and regional sales to drive revenue growth plans. Model future product growth and strategy to support portfolio.
Manage the 4 P’s: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion for the portfolio of offerings. Consider customer segmentation, value proposition, and product positioning message. Create and deliver launch plans for new products, on time and on budget.
Create compelling value propositions that effectively match our core business strengths to market needs, and work with market development to develop/deliver specific marketing messages to stimulate demand.
Partner with global operations and IT to drive excellence in the market
Work with regional marketing and global market development teams to use market research and voice of customer feedback in specific regions and customer segments to understand dynamics of market evolution and competitive forces to maintain competitive advantage. Leverage information to create segment specific product strategies and offerings.
Ensure sales and delivery cycle for all products is user-centered and smooth—an experience that delights the customer and increases the Net Promoter Score of the company.
May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION:
5 years revenue management or product management experience.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Life Sciences or a similar discipline with general knowledge/understanding of Biology, Marketing, and Product Management. MBA preferred.
Sales experience in a technical field a big plus.
Demonstrated ability to successfully launch new products in a dynamic market place.
Experience in molecular biology or oligonucleotide synthesis a plus.
Experience with financial modeling or data analysis skills. Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track results.
Able to distill customer requirements, understands competitive strengths and weaknesses, and develops compelling product offerings and value propositions and addresses competitive threats.
Experience working in a matrixed environment, leading teams without direct authority.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships cross functionally.
Able to create and execute plans based on a vision.
Able to act in a relatively autonomous capacity and encounter problems of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity.
