Global Marketing Communications Group with approximately 450 people across the globe in EMEA, US and Asia delivers leading brand and product communications for retail, institutional and clients. This team incorporates channel marketing roles which are aligned to the business as well as central marketing teams such as events, digital, advertising and creative services.
The UK Retail Marketing team sets the strategic direction for the marketing plans across various product lines and client channels in the UK working closely with the internal business groups and marketing partners. It is the responsibility of this team to project manage and implement effectively local brand, capability and product campaigns and use metrics to measure the return on investment and to inform and evolve future activity.
The team handles marketing for a broad range of products registered in the UK, including the BFM (onshore funds), BGF and BSF (Luxembourg-domiciled funds), BCIF (index tracking unit trusts), a range of closed-ended funds and a number of cash and alternative investment strategies.
The Intermediary Marketing Manager will be responsible for specifically developing and implementing the marketing strategy for our client's regional wealth channels. The individual will work closely with the Head of UK Retail Marketing to establish priorities and implement campaigns across a range of client segments. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing marketing activities across the complete range of marketing disciplines including advertising, events, literature, bespoke tactical campaigns, digital, direct marketing and client communications, working closely with our central marketing teams to deliver this activity.
Key responsibilities will include:
Overall responsibility for the UK advisory communications platform and communications strategy. This will entail collaboration with other departments, including content teams, direct and digital marketing teams and campaign team and to coordinate the dissemination of related market insight, value-add, educational and product content through proprietary adviser and syndicated channels.
Management of proprietary adviser web platform and robust monitoring of metrics in order to drive strategy and optimise site activity and content.
Support and drive the business by researching, planning, executing and tracking through-the-line marketing campaigns to advisory clients including financial advisers, nationals, networks and adviser portals.
Manage and execute flagship regional, roadshows and adviser specific events, liaising with sales and PMG to closely align opportunities with product focus.
Provide marketing support to the business on new product launches for the retail fund ranges.
Generate ideas and deliver new ways of promoting BlackRock, our capabilities and products to intermediary clients.
Build the profile and brand awareness via creative and innovative marketing executions.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with the Sales Team, portfolio managers, product specialists, operations, PR, compliance and other business functions as appropriate.
Manage tactical budgets for specific projects and campaign activity in an efficient and responsible manner,
Work with marketing analyst to ensure workload is managed effectively and delegating as appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skill sets, proven ability and confidence in presenting material at a high level.
Strong understanding of the investment management industry including investment products, client segments and the competitor landscape.
Strong investment knowledge (IMC desirable).
Management expertise and proven experience of managing individuals or virtual teams.
VP level with proven experience working in financial services, preferably in asset management, banking or wealth management.
Proven ability to manage multiple, determined stakeholders and effectively integrate input while maintaining project schedules.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment – someone who is collaborative, flexible and reliable with a strong ‘can do attitude’.
Ability to liaise with management of all levels to drive and communicate strategy.
Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in regards to changes in strategy and project plans.
Strong project management skills, including an ability to move projects forward in a complex environment.
Creative thinker able to deliver messages in an innovative and engaging manner.
