Global Graphic Designer - £45k

A successful and innovative global start-up, backed by world-class venture capital firms, Accel Partners and Index Ventures, our HQ are based in Paris and we have international teams in Madrid, Milan, Warsaw, Hamburg, Moscow, Budapest, London, Istanbul and New Delhi.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced visual designer to lead our internal design studio, and act as senior art director and coordinator to a team of graphic designers located in several offices around the world. Based in London, the Global Design Manager will lead the design and execution of local marketing communications and the ongoing definition and implementation of our visual brand identity. This new role reports to the Global Head of Marketing & Design, who reports directly to company founders.

The BlaBlaCar digital marketing team is one of the best in Europe (we are one of Facebook's top performing major accounts for example), and a smart, agile in-house marketing design process is a major contributing factor to that success. We use no advertising agencies - all our content is developed, and almost all is produced in-house! We are now looking for senior design talent to continue driving efficient global design solutions for growth.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Help hire and subsequently coordinate, and mentor, said team of Local Content Designers who will be based in our ten local offices around the world, as part of the local teams

• Create and oversee development of effective graphic assets that will support local marketing strategies both digitally and offline

• Develop process for feedback and resource sharing across remote design team members in our multiple local offices

• Consult with local team stakeholders to ensure appropriate creative strategies, adequacy/accuracy of input, schedules, production support, etc.

• Contribute to our ongoing visual identity guidelines (alongside our Global Creative Lead) and help ensure consistent visual messaging, and look and feel across marketing and communications materials in all territories

• Translate local insights into effective creative campaigns across multiple media platforms

• Partner with our global growth organization to implement marketing strategies and create tactical executions

Qualifications

Design degree, proven success as an art director and studio manager, a great design portfolio

Minimum 8 years professional experience

Great project leader, coordinator and communicator, with a proven ability to prioritise and lead complex projects, bring structure to big work streams

Passionate, committed design team leader and skilful people manager, able to get others on board, inspire, guide and mentor successfully

Comfort working in a start up culture with a high growth/agile environment, a fearless problem-solver with a can-do approach who embraces constant change

Must understand our business model and value proposition, for both drivers and passengers

Knowledge of digital marketing & online marketing metrics (CPC, CPL etc…) a plus

The successful candidate will be a great visual designer, with exceptional people & communication skills, capable of leadership and diplomacy. This role is ideal for you if you have begun to excel in managing creative teams, are structured and process-driven, and seeking the next level of responsibility and challenge in your career. It provides a unique opportunity to develop real and valuable expertise in digital marketing for business growth, and to carry meaningful responsibility in brand guardianship. The successful candidate will help shape and mentor a global team of local designers, bringing greater creativity and efficiency to our global operations.

Strong knowledge of digital marketing is a plus. Please note that, although UI UX skill is of course useful to designing online content, the scope of this role does NOT include UI UX design of the site or apps. The role is 100% focused on creation and management of marketing content.

As a key manager, travel to local offices to build team relationships with local colleagues and understand local market challenges will be vital.
