Gameplay and Level Designer

Aquent is looking for an experienced Gameplay and Level Designer that will help us develop awesome player and enemy mechanics. We are looking for a Level Designer that can help us deliver a world class game experience. If you have a have a passion for trying new things now is your chance!

Content Team Designer Duties:
Work with the Senior Content Designer and Creative Leadership Team to understand the product's vision and design gameplay to meet those goals.
Contribute content designs for a variety of assets developed for our consumer base such as props, characters, visual and audio effects, and animations
Contribute designs to narrative aspects of content such as Non-Player Character interactions, object background, level walkthrough guidance
Assign and tune default properties of content such as locomotion, combat, and physics values/settings
Evaluate collision mesh of props, document, submit, and verify fixes (as needed)
Use and maintain design documents associated with assigned content designs
Acquire working knowledge of proprietary scripting language used by developers and users and apply knowledge on a regular basis. For example – create default brains, library brains, and assemblies that are included in content packs
Rapid prototyping of new play mechanics and AI behaviors
Design, white-box, script, tune and polish interactive and non-interactive game levels that showcase content included in content packs
In some cases, use the game’s proprietary art tools to create near-ship or ship-quality level art (terrain, texture painting, etc.)
Responsible for finding and fixing bugs in assigned content
Share knowledge and gain knowledge within a team environment

Requirements:
2+ Years of AAA game development experience with at least 1 shipped title.
Has completed at least 1 development cycle in a Level Design position.
Demonstrated familiarity with modern game editor such as Unreal, Unity, CryENGINE, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge and use of at least 1 scripting language.
Prior experience with 3rd person Action and/or Puzzle games and/or First Person games.
Programming knowledge a plus
Great communication – written and verbal.
Possesses a strong critical eye and passion to “find the fun” in the player’s experience.
Willingness to explore, iterate and collaborate on difficult problems.
Ability to think logically and structurally to create sound puzzle designs and integrate them into the level flow.
Able to work by yourself or as part of a team.
Deep experience with console and/or PC gaming.
Programming knowledge/experience a plus.
