Gameplay & Content Designer

The game studio working is looking for an experienced gameplay and content designer that will help us develop magical gameplay and creator content. We are looking for a Game/Content Designer that can help us continue to deliver world class creations and play game experiences. Content Team Designer Duties:
• Work with the Senior Content Designer and Creative Leadership Team to understand the product's vision and design gameplay to meet those goals.
• Contribute content designs for a variety of assets developed for our consumer base such as props, characters, visual and audio effects, and animations
• Contribute designs to narrative aspects of content such as character and world fiction
• Assign, tune, and maintain the default properties of content such as combat and physics values/settings
• Evaluate collision mesh, sockets, pivot points, and more for all props included in Content Packs. Responsible for reporting errors, suggesting improvements, tracking and verifying fixes.
• Write and fix bugs assigned to your area of work.
• Create, use and maintain design documents associated with your area of work (excel, word).
• Acquire working knowledge of proprietary scripting language used by developers and our growing community and apply knowledge on a regular basis. For example – create default brains, library brains, and assemblies that are included in content packs
• Rapid prototyping of new play mechanics and AI behaviors
• Design, white-box, script, tune and polish game worlds that showcase content included in content packs (for marketplace videos)
• Gain deep working understanding of the game’s Crossroads mode and integrate content into it
• In some cases, use the game’s proprietary art tools to create near-ship or ship-quality level art (terrain, texture painting, etc.)
• Responsible for finding and fixing bugs in assigned content
• Share knowledge and gain knowledge within a team environment

Additional: Learning about the game’s mechanics. Experimenting with game mechanics from an End-User point of view. Provide feedback and suggestions for mechanics that improve the End-User experience.


Day to Day Activities:
• Work with the Senior Designer to understand the product’s vision and design gameplay to meet those goals.
• Create, maintain and manage asset documentation and in-game properties, brains, and modular gameplay mechanics for content associated with downloadable content.
• Use internal development tools to:
o Set up props with default properties and physics settings
o Prototype, pitch, iterate, finalize brains for necessary props and assemblies
o Design and script content showcase levels for use with marketplace videos
o Design and script content for use with Crossroads play mode
o Integrate Challenges for content included in DLC packs
o Make the player’s experience as magical as possible
o Continue to grow as a creator of content that our community can learn from
o Bug logging and fixing

Candidate Requirements:
• Has completed at least 1 development cycle in a Level Design position.
• Demonstrated familiarity with modern game editor such as Unreal, Unity, CryENGINE,
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of at least 1 scripting language.
• Prior experience with 3rd person Action and/or Puzzle games and/or First Person games.
• Great communication – written and verbal.
• Possesses a strong critical eye and passion to “find the fun” in the player’s experience.
• Willingness to explore, iterate and collaborate on difficult problems.
• Ability to think logically and structurally to create sound puzzle designs and integrate them into the level flow.
• Able to work by yourself or as part of a team.
• Deep experience with console and/or PC gaming.
• Programming knowledge/experience a plus.
• Preferred 2+ Years of AAA game development experience with at least 1 shipped title.
