Game Designer

This team is looking for an experienced game designer to join the team and help create the next wave of innovative casual, social gameplay! The team’s mission is to deliver new technologies and experiences within the gaming platform. As a designer on the team you’ll be the champion for the player experience. You will partner with external developers to solve creative issues and shape experiences to deliver on the promise of quick, bite-sized fun under tight time constraints. You’ll also work with internal teams to shape the vision for the future of the infrastructure and related web sites. You’ll work on multiple projects simultaneously and must be able to jump from one to the next and back again without losing a beat. Most titles are not traditional games, so you must be able to get excited by a wide variety of playful experiences.

This position involves the following responsibilities:
- Ensure that the final product quality meets the high expectations of the studio.
- Ensure that the creative vision and direction for titles is clear to our development partners.
- Support the development of our partner’s creative vision, offering creative solutions and ideas.
- Work effectively with producers, PM(s), user research team members, and any other key leads to determine project design specifications and to ensure successful product execution.
- Contribute creative, innovative design ideas.
- Design the flow of the player experience and user interface.
- Communicate ideas, interactions, and experience flows through flowcharts, storyboards, and other visual means.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Be a creative thinker that can operate and collaborate to the highest standard within the team structure.
- Have an open-minded approach to design and display the ability to challenge convention. They will be forward thinking and have the flexibility to research and undertake any gameplay experience as required.
- Take complete design responsibility and ownership of the project and guide it through to completion - seeking out, evaluating and implementing feedback from all relevant sources to constantly improve and refine the title.
- Have been through an entire shipping cycle, from concept to release, as a systems designer on at least one console or mobile title.
- Be comfortable using Illustrator, Flash, or other visual communication tools to illustrate and evangelize ideas.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Prior game design experience
- Shipped at least 1 title on console, PC or phone
- Experienced relationship management skills.
- Excellent creative vision and passion for the casual / social space.
- A comprehensive understanding of gameplay and UI mechanics, combined with an ability to identify, analyze and rectify game design and gameplay issues.
- Strong verbal, written and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide design feedback in a positive, constructive way.
