A leading adult and children's publishing house is seeking a full-stack LAMP Web Developer to join their team, on-site, for a 4-6 week project.

Your challenge:
The Consumer Marketing Development & Operations group is seeking a full-stack LAMP Web Developer to join their digital team of designers, developers and product managers. The digital design and development team is tasked with supporting various programs and a stable of responsive websites, along with analytics, digital and email marketing at the corporate level. Specifically, the Web Developer will be responsible for building and supporting consumer-facing digital properties and platforms as well as developing new online and mobile sites and technologies.

In addition to proven experience in agile development and design patterns, you must display excellent written and oral skills in your communications with your technical and non-technical colleagues. Your ability and willingness to communicate with and to forge productive partnerships with business owners/stakeholders and non-technical team members is essential, as is your ability to collaborate with cross divisional IT teams located in New York and in other centers.

As full-stack LAMP Web Developer your challenge will be to:
1. Develop and maintain Word Press websites using PHP, JavaScript, Node.js/grunt, and other technologies.
2. Help to design and architect solutions useable across properties and to advance the use of design patterns, modularization, and workflow automation.
3. Work with other internal teams (especially IT) to see that systems are properly integrated and that best practices are followed in line with the existing digital infrastructure.
4. Develop websites using RWD and build in partnership with design in an agile team setting.
5. Build user-centered experiences and interfaces to maximize usability, accessibility, and modularity.
6. Leverage internal and external RESTful APIs, databases, and other data sources.
7. Support scale in the Word Press environment (templates, themes, database tables, core files, etc.)

Your profile:
General Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in web development/design
- Proven experience with PL/SQL and relational databases
- Understanding of the Oracle database environment
- Expertise in WordPress, PHP, JSON
- Experience any of the following a plus: Python, ESPs, and CRM integrations

Front End Experience/Education:
- Familiarity of SEO best practices, frontend and backend
- Understanding and practice of standard UX concepts
- Experience developing with JavaScript (JQuery and other libraries)
- Hands-on experience developing web based applications using HTML5/CSS, AJAX, some developing of XML/XSD
- Experience with Twitter Bootstrap or other responsive libraries a plus

Architecture and Infrastructure Experience/Education:
- Experience with source control technologies (e.g. git)
- Experience with Node.js, npm, grunt, LESS/SASS, etc. a plus
- An understanding of Web-Services including an understanding of ecommerce

- Takes ownership of unit testing and collaboration with QA team to ensure high quality releases
- Familiarity with the publishing industry, a plus
