JOB DESCRIPTION: FULL-STACK DEVELOPER

Reports to: Group Creative Director

Description:

The Full-Sack Developer (FSD) will work on client, new business and internal interactive projects. He/she will meet with the client and account team(s) to discuss interactive objectives and technical requirements and make recommendations on platforms/languages, tools and technologies that will enable the client to achieve their goals. The FSD will work closely with our Web Strategist and Designers to create sitemaps, working wireframes as well as collaborate with the design team on the UI designs for an optimal user experience. After sitemap, wireframe and UI design approval, the FSD will be the primary person responsible for programming the site within the appropriate platform/language (see list of technical skills and requirements below).

The requirements for this position are:

• College degree, web development certification or significant equivalent experience
• At least four years of experience working in interactive development work
• Ability to develop high-enterprise, custom-built sites and a professional-level knowledge of:
o Responsive HTML/XHTML and CSS
o PHP and JSP (ASP a plus)
o Web servers: Apache, Nginx
o Programming languages: PHP, NodeJS, Ruby
o Database: MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, SQL / JSON in general
o Code control (SVN/GIT)
o Database I’d add MSSQL to the list as a plus
o API integration into third-party systems
o Search engine optimization
o Front-end email (eg – MailChimp, Constant Contact, MyEmma, etc.)
o WordPress (Kentico or Expression Engine a plus)
o Facebook Application development (eg – iFraming, Woobox, custom contests, etc.)
• A familiarity of the capabilities of similar technologies such as .NET and Ruby on Rails
• Familiarity with hosting and server solutions (eg - Rackspace, Bluehost, Amazon S3, Cloudfare)
• Ability to perform campaign measurement and reporting insights
• Experience with in-depth QA compatibility testing across browsers and platforms
• A varied portfolio containing previous interactive development and functionalities
• Strong background in pixel-to-pixel design (typography, user interface design, mobile design)
• Proven ability to write technical/functionality specification documentation
• Ability to translate client requests into successful interactive solutions
• Ability to handle multiple projects, ask the right questions and work well with direction
• Ability to interact with clients well, both over the phone and in person
• Above-average teamwork and communication skills as well as the ability to counsel and lead clients
• Drive to continually learn and educate others on the latest digital trends and technologies
