Our client, one of the UK’s largest television and broadband providers, are looking for a QA Developer to work on their range of technology platforms.

The QA Developer role is offered on an initial contract of 3 months and is to be based at the client’s headquarters in West London. They are looking to pay around £300 - £337.50 per day. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the UK’s main telecommunications brands at a time of growth.


Development roles ensure the effective development, management, testing and delivery of all software, hardware and 3rd party products associated with the implementation of new products and functions to support specific business objectives. These roles will include the responsibility for product and service quality through end-to-end testing as well as roles that have a significant resource management and planning responsibility.

Web Application/Service Development

The web development team are responsible for the development of key Online and TV products the brand offers to customer on multiple devices and platform.

Role Purpose

You’ll be part of a small and dynamic development team. You’ll spend your days making our web software and services better, whether it’s testing new features, designing automation and performance tests, or making sure that the user interface is top-notch. As a member of this agile team, you will be the champion of quality for a squad focusing on a specific feature.

Key Accountabilities

• Planning and executing the testing of new features, in an agile development team

• Evaluate current test procedures and drive optimizations

• Provide engineering teams with analysis of uncovered software defects

• Test and report cross-platform web software bugs in a detailed, timely manner

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• Proven track record in and knowledge of testing techniques in an agile development cycle

• Demonstrated ability to own a complete functional area of an application or product

• Working knowledge of Windows, Macintosh, Linux systems, iPhone, and Android

• Experience with command-line tools for debugging and analysis

• Ability to analyze crash logs, backtraces, and assist engineers by utilizing basic debugging techniques

• Excellent communication skills (ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience)

• Love of testing things that are hard to test

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• Knowledge of Restful web services

• Experience with testing on LAMP stack

• Automation

• Exploratory Testing
