We’re looking for a frontend developer to handle HTML production for our Ecommerce site. This role works hand-in-hand with the designers to translate the layered Photoshop files into the appropriate HTML/CSS, which is first staged as HTML and later then entered/scheduled in our CMS.

Ideally you know when to write/tweak Javascript to add or modify the presentation.
This is primarily a production role, and the focus is on accuracy, cross-browser compatibility and speed. However, this role partners with design and business functions and is the “grease” between the wheels: you co-own the product with your partners, advise on technical issues, and you find solutions to technical and usability challenges.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review design in progress with an eye toward production as well as usability
• Determine feasibility of planned Javascript interactions
• Slice approved PSD files into optimized assets and build needed HTML/CSS to meet weekly production schedule
• Enter HTML/CSS into webstore CMS and verify it looks/works as expected
• Help diagnose/fix frontend issues (CSS/Javascript) as they arise
• Use, and continually keep on top of, best practices for compatibility, usability, accessibility
• Collaborate with designers and business owners to deliver best possible user experience
• Develop new user-interface functionality as requested, by hand-coding OO Javascript and/or leveraging 3rd party libraries

Job Requirements:
• 2+ years experience in a fast-paced production environment
• 4 years experience hand-coding HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Demonstrated experience translating a layered PSD into optimized image assets and browser-safe CSS and HTML
• 2+ years experience with Javascript frameworks and libraries
• Experience working with CMS and templated websites, demonstrated ability to "work around" a system's limitations
• Well versed with browser and email-client idiosyncrasies and limitations
• Self-directed, works effectively with minimal supervision
• handles short time frames well and delivers on time – without mistakes
• excellent contributor who is adept at working with cross-functional teams
• exemplary work ethic, a sense of humor
