Front End Developer

Our client is looking for a creative mid to senior level front end developer! They have approval to bring someone on board on a temp to perm basis, but they are also open to seeing candidates who just want freelance. Onsite in Lexington. This is an urgent need so the start date is as soon as possible. The client works with government / federal agencies.

Must be onsite in Lexington office for the first several months, but there's a possibility this person could move to the Boston office once acclimated and space allowing.

They are interested in seeing developers who have a nice mix of user experience, usability, data visualization and implementation skills - this person would be working with their client and should be able to take their concepts and understand their business needs. This person needs to be comfortable working with a team - it's a very collaborative environment.


* CSS3
* Javascript (AJAX, primarily using jQuery library)
* PHP (highly preferred)
* Coldfusion (rarely)
* ASP.NET (rarely)

* Take designs (usually in photoshop) and translate to HTML
* Responsive
* Debug/reverse engineer old code for enhancements/fixes
* Web standards
* Accessibility (508, WCAG)
* Site architecture
* SEO & Analytics (rarely)
* Cross browser/device testing
* API integration (Google maps, Google charts, Highcharts, etc.)
* Basic website maintenance

CMS Development
* Wordpress
* Drupal (important)
* CommonSpot (rarely)
* Expression Engine (rarely)

Design (all important aspects of the role)
* UI Design
* UX Analysis
* Design for web (occasionally)
* Wireframe interface concepts from client needs/comments in varying levels of detail (to provide to designers)

Other skills
* Provide technical direction based on client requirements
* Receive and adjust to client feedback/direction
* Present/discuss technical information in a non-technical manner
* Estimate (with reasonable accuracy) amount of time necessary for given tasks, and communicate issues with estimates in a timely manner
* Track development time day-to-day
