One of VT's favorite clients is looking for a Front End Developer! Our client's talented, hard-charging Ecommerce Development team is looking to build out a team of designers and developers to help us evolve their brand into a world-class eCommerce web site and a powerful sales tool for their store staff. As part of a small, dynamic team, the new Front End Developer will focus on web production and assigned project work. He/she will work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. He/she must be self-motivated, flexible and capable of handling multiple assignments. He/she must be passionate about technology and Ecommerce and be willing to roll up their sleeves and tackle any assignment given to them.

This is the jr.-mid-level skill set – CSS, HTML5, javascript/jquery (advanced scripting would be a plus) + CMS experience, GITHUB, Basecamp. Experience working in PHP a plus.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems
• Required experience with PHP, CSS(3), JQuery, Javascript, HTML, XML
• Bonus points for familiarity or experience with GITHUB (code repository), HTML5, PHP, Magento Enterprise Platform
• Demonstrate an intimate knowledge of front-end web development best practices — including optimization, cross-platform issues, debugging.
• Knowledge of Web standards, technologies, and terminology
• Experience Optimizing for Search Engines
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to estimate level of effort based on high level requirements
• Solid communication skills, ability to collaborate, take direction and work within a cross-functional team

Soft skills: self driven/managed, able to juggle multiple projects, accountable for good communication verbally and in project management tools, flexible, willing to learn and grow from collaboration with the rest of the small dev team, not a designer/not a back end dev – wants to stay in the front end, willing to do larger projects and production work as well (banners, assets, etc.) – this job is a mix.

This is a contract to hire position.
This position will require you to be onsite at the client's office 40 hours a week.
