Front End Developer

This role is open to candidates in the U.S. but West Coast hours are required.

We are seeking a Front-End Developer to provide UI coding support for our client’s Digital Style Guide. This work involves coding, testing, and debugging for the web presentation layer using HTML, CSS and Javascript. 

The ideal candidate will not only have solid technical skills, but will also:

Styleguide & Pattern library 
a) Work: 
• Continue to add patterns 
• Continue with more effective implementation with AEM / SPA's 
• Continue to assist with cleaning up technical debt related to Styleguide / css in components 
• Figure out automation / unit testing / how to work with Factory of the Future releases / dev ops processes 
• Participate in processes: 
i. Pattern decomposition 
ii. Component decomposition 
iii. Reviewing functional / technical specs 
iv. Participate in technical deep dives (post component decomp meetings between CMS & technical architects) 
v. Walkthrough of comps with scrum teams before they begin to orient to Styleguide / Pattern library 
• Continue to develop documentation & provide support. 
• Continue to refine guidelines / standards / training / onboarding material 
Responsibilities: 
• Development for production and/or prototyping, including: 
o Manually coding, testing, and debugging HTML, CSS and Javascript according to internal standards, guidelines and in accordance with industry best practices 
o Translating visual designs into completed HTML pages while adhering to design specifications 
o Ensuring cross-browser compatibility and compliance with accessibility guidelines 
• Collaboration with technical writer/editors, user experience designers, application developers, and/or project managers on project work 

Minimum Qualifications: 
• Proficiency in hand coded HTML, CSS and Javascript 
• Solid understanding of cross browser compatibilities 
• Accuracy, reliability, and excellent attention to detail 
• Ability to work with little supervision, with tight timelines and with competing priorities 
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Expertise in HTML5 & CSS3 
• Expertise with Responsive Web Design techniques and concepts 
• Experience in front end development infrastructure and frameworks such as JQuery, SASS, Bootstrap, Git, Bower, and Angular 
• Experience with Enterprise CMS like AEM/TeamSite or other enterprise content management systems 
• Experience with Agile and/or Lean UX 

Education/Experience: 
• 4-year degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience 
• 2+ years experience desired
