Front End Developer / Digital Designer

Our client in Middleton, WI is in need of a Front End Developer / Digital Designer to work with them on a project by project basis. This person would be responsible for design, front-end development, production, and maintenance of all client digital experiences, including but not limited to branded web-sites, retailer micro-sites, and mobile and social media applications. The Front End Developer / Digital Designer also leads visualization and digital asset development including illustration, 3-d product and merchandising rendering, and video. Responsible for developing creative strategies and concepts in partnership with print designers, copy-writers, content developers, product managers, and IT developers.

JOB DUTIES:
1) UX Design and digital strategy for digital experiences - 40%
o Define the structure and flow of the user experience through user interaction audits, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, and taxonomies
o Establishment of design standards consistent with business objectives and brand guidelines
o Awareness of traffic, usage and engagement across media

2) Web page design, development, production and maintenance. - 40%
o Develop design concepts. Create wireframes, sitemaps, and mock ups
o Support creation of user-centered design interfaces in client websites
o Develop site structure strategies taking into account factors such as: persuasive architecture, usability, linking structure and metrics
o Collaboration with art directors and copy-writers to maintain brand cohesiveness
o Website development including programming and maintenance as needed

3) Project management/coordination. – 20%
o Participate in management of assigned projects throughout the project life cycle (strategy through implementation); including discovery, and initial assessment, program definition, creative development, program launch, measurement and reporting.
o Collaborate closely with IT web developers
o Work with internal departments, stakeholders and external vendors in planning, implementation and launch of projects including development of project plans
o Document issues and communicate with stakeholders
o Develop project and process documentation

Minimum Education Required: 2-4 year degree in Web Design, Web Programming, Internet Marketing or equivalent experience required.
Minimum Job-Related Experience Required: 5-7 years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS development
• Knowledgeable in web site design standards and usability concepts for interactive design
• Proficiency in applications such as: Visual Studio, Axure, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience with Adobe Scene7 Authoring Tools or with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as AEM a plus
• Understanding of Sharepoint and .net based applications a plus
• Understanding of Websphere or other editors a plus
• Ability to analyze best possible solution based on user experience
• Experience with website activity reporting tools and success measurement standards
• Knowledgeable in best SEO usability practices
