Freelance UX Researcher

My client are a fantastic tier 1 tech company renowned for creating immersive experiences for consumers and clients alike. With a platform that has changed our social output and know how, they are keen to keep people engaged and cultivated. With a new fantastic VR project on the horizon, they are now on the lookout for a passionate contract UX researcher to join them on a 3 month basis.

Reporting into the Senior UX lead, you will be tasked with working on a fantastic VR project that has yet to be released and is still in production. It’ll be your job to work alongside their product team and engineers to harness a ground-breaking project from concept right through to delivery, really influencing the research and usability elements at your disposal.

On a day to day basis, you will be conducting usability studies, conduct focus groups, coordinate international research projects, communicating with stakeholders and drafting research reports. 

As the UX experience Researcher, you'll explore and define the future of interfaces in virtual reality. You will help them enhance the user experience and investigate the ‘why’ in order to learn more about our users and how they interact in applications that can take people out of this world. You’ll collaborate with world class talent to define, design, and deploy new interfaces.

Ideally, you should harbour an active interest in VR or have worked on projects in a similar capacity. As you’ll be working with a client who’s consumers are extremely passionate and excited about VR along with its potential, it’s extremely key that you radiate that same energy because this client really want people who embody the values they are trying to convey.

Must haves

-A strong publication record 
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills 
-Excellent command of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods 
- Thrives in fast-paced research environments 
- PhD or MA in interaction design, HCI, communications or in a related field, and 2+ years of relevant research experience 
- M.A / M.S or PH.D in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Sociology or a related field
