Freelance Rolling - Senior Account Manager

Job Description:

Working within an in-house creative agency for a large European retailer, this role will be responsible for providing excellent client service support for the European Brand and Marketing team. 

You will be the key liaison point within the European Activation team for creative projects and to be responsible for the client relationship and management of campaign delivery from concept through to completion. Ensuring that all work developed is on brief, delivered on time and to budget. The role will be working with a number of internal stakeholders, 3rd party suppliers, as well as on through the line campaigns, working across POS, seasonal campaigns, gift cards and printed and digital collateral. 

*Please note the role is based in Central London for the first month and will relocate to North London with the wider team thereafter. 

Key responsibilities:

1. Client service

- Take responsibility of own projects, take briefs, make sense of them, add value and push back if necessary

- Organize briefing meetings with creative, client, project managers and production

- Be able to effectively but artfully challenge clients on work that is on brief but being rejected

- To sit between clients, traffic, designers and producers and coordinate and identify/relay questions and issues, to deliver projects on time

- Managing campaign costs, collating cost estimates

- QC, proofing of all materials that leave the department, ensuring all are on brief before sharing with the client and ensuring all amends have been carried out

- Be responsible for providing timing plans for projects

- Update clients regularly on the progress of their projects

- Organise and attend meetings/briefings and send contact reports where necessary

- Maintain strong relationships with client contacts and external agencies

- Compilation of presentations and other materials as required

- Support Client Services Manager on additional projects as and when required

2. Project management

- To be responsible for leading the status meetings and ensuring that any actions from them are carried out

- To input into the compiling of the work lists with the Traffic Manager

- To input jobs onto the CASS workflow system

- Ensure all work coming from the creative team answers the client briefing, have a creative input as required to ensure this happens

- Ensure timelines are communicated and adhered to by all relevant parties

- Keeping ‘in the know’ about what’s happening in the world of home and fashion

- Be responsible for the set up of creative briefing meetings where appropriate

3. Production

- Develop strong relationships with the Creative Producers, Studio Manager and Print Production teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule

- Ensure that the Production teams – both Print and Creative production receive the creative brief

- Work closely with them to produce critical paths

- Communicate timelines to all concerned and help them stick to it

- Work closely with the print management team to develop knowledge about print and production process in order to advise clients

4. Financial management

- Ensure that budgets are received from clients.

- Be responsible for communicating to client any production estimates or external costs incurred on projects – (excluding print production which will be done by the print production team)

- Ensure that any finance reconciliations are also sent to clients.

5. Resource management

- Be aware of and highlight gaps in resource within the creative team to the Client Services Manager and Traffic Manager

6. Key skills and experience

- At least 3-4 years experience in an account management or project management role within a creative agency or client-side

- Experience of managing people (beneficial but not essential)

- Confidence and gravitas to lead meetings where appropriate

- Be articulate and confident enough to voice opinions

- Capable of juggling multiple projects - demonstrate great ability to multitask

- Have good creative judgment and creative strategic skills and ensure it meets the clients’ objectives

- Be able to build good relationships with creative teams

- Good knowledge of print and production processes

- Knowledge and understanding of retail environment and retail marketing (beneficial but not essential)

- An understanding of the digital marketing process

- Understanding of web and digital

- Experience in Corporate Responsibility and Internal Communications (beneficial but not essential)

- Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

- Strong communication skills – both written and oral

- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels

- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

- Be able to motivate team members during difficult times and keep projects moving forward

- Keep calm under pressure

- Can do attitude
