Freelance Global Account Director

We’re now looking to grow our London office with a Global Account Director to oversee our UK and EU offices. With a new pipeline of exciting clients and some amazing projects coming up, we need to strengthen our client servicing team and offering within the UK and Europe. The main aim of this role will be to support existing clients and to focus on organic and new business growth to also include cross selling within the PHCG London office, encouraging cross unit working. Selling the brand both internally and externally.

Coming into this role you will own the relationships with your clients, have responsibility for understanding the brand strategy. Owning the brand strategy and effectively influencing the client to achieve brand objectives. You will be responsible as agency management for prudent financial expenditure and own the revenue and projections of the brand. You will be responsible for staffing, managing and leading the account team. Owning and communicating to the extended internal team, the overall client vision and the vision for all marketing programs for client’s business,
the brand logistics and market landscape. You will strategically lead client meetings and workshops and be a respected advisor for your clients on their brand positioning and marketing plans. You will also manage all financial aspects of your accounts and ultimately be responsible for communicating your projections to the wider team.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a self-starter and someone who’s used to working in an autonomous style. We are not a micro-managed culture so we’re looking for someone with entrepreneurial flair and someone who is able to build strong relationships with our clients as well as all stakeholders - both internal and external. It’s an exciting role within a close-knit team, there are also plenty of opportunities for future personal and professional development within the wider group network.

Job Responsibilities:
Brand/Market/Agency Knowledge
• Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of Client's business and actively seeks opportunities for further account development
• Demonstrates ability to integrate emerging technologies into client recommendations
• Serves as team leader to both integrated agency team and to client
• Demonstrates thorough understanding of industry business trends Understands and applies Agency annual strategic imperatives into account management
• Advances best practices in agency process
• Maintains regular attendance at industry association meetings

Client Relations/ Communication Skills
• Proactively manages relationship with assigned clients and seeks opportunities to strengthen/build new relationships
• Seeks opportunities to showcase Agency work among current and prospective Clients
• Seeks opportunities to grow business within current accounts and into new accounts connected with that Client
• Demonstrates expert presentation skills
• Demonstrates ability to adapt to various Client corporate cultures

Strategic and Tactical Planning
• Approaches brand from holistic marketing perspective. Look across media/channel landscape (channel neutral) and develop outcomes that meet client objectives
• Responsible for overseeing and guiding brand strategy and tactics
• Responsible for new business opportunities: driving growth on assigned brands as appropriate
• proactively identifies client risks and manages his/her client teams to effectively respond to these client needs
• Maintain and drive collaboration among 3rd party partners (within or external to the Group)

Financial Acumen
• Understands agency revenue and profitability model (e.g. in-sourcing vs. freelance)
• Aggressively monitor fee performance to encourage/ensure account profitability
• Demonstrate ability to determine and negotiate budget needs, and provide input to development of the fee
• Prepares account forecasts. Presents at meetings
• Vigilantly seeks to optimize both Agency services and internal resources
• Responsible for contract negotiations for specific clients, attains P&L targets

Interpersonal/ Leadership Skills
• Supports the strategic direction and desired culture of the agency and assists in recruitment of further client services team members.
• Manages all team and client expectations to ensure a positive and productive working atmosphere.
• Is transparent in all communications with their manager and wider team, agency and colleagues.
• Solves client issues and moderates conflict whoever possible.
