Freelance Creative Strategist

Want to work on the inside on killer creative projects? Love video games? Interested in joining a creative pitch for a massively popular game brand? Our client is looking for talented freelance creative strategist to work on site with internal creative team on a creative pitch. Working off the project brief, you’ll distill your strategic insights into though-provoking big ideas that serve as the campaign’s creative pillars—and then you’ll partner with creatives and producers to ensure that resulting pitch is brilliant, polished, and on-brief.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the strategic development of an advertising pitch for a videogame.
• Working from a project brief, interpret marketing objectives via your expertise an advertising thought leader to identify game-changing big ideas.
• Interpret cultural and social trends that are relevant to the pitch, the market, and the consumer and distill them into potent creative strategies.
• Partner with creatives to write the strategic rationale behind the work.
• Present to the creative director, creative team, and other internal clients as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:
• A demonstrated 3+ year track record as a strategist or planner in an agency or on an in-house creative team.
• Experience with the video game and/or entertainment industry is preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong oral presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects while remaining flexible.
• The ability to multi-task and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• A mature, professional attitude combined with a desire to have fun.
• Enthusiasm for videogames is a definite plus.

Candidates must be available to periodically work on-site in San Francisco during this project.
