Freelance Creative Director

Vitamin T is assisting a not for profit organization with their immediate need for a Creative Director to start Monday, June 24th for approx. 2 months. This is onsite in midtown. 

They are seeking an experienced, motivated, and innovative Creative Director with the determination to quickly learn the organization, build relationships, visualize possibility and transform marketing into action and positive change. The Director will play a key role in revamping the organization’s creative presence to spark effective and collaborative change. 

Primary Function 

The Creative Director will lead the newly transformed Creative Services Department and bring together traditional graphic design functions with photography, infographics and video across rapidly advancing technology platforms. The Director will report to the VP of Brand & Marketing. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Work with brand and marketing department management, and stakeholders, to deliver exceptional creative products that enable the organization to meet its strategic growth goals. 

2. Lead and manage the Marketing Creative Services Team 

3. Partner with VP of Brand and Marketing in transforming the functions of the marketing department to be a proactive, strategic, customer service oriented department. 

4. Provide production leadership to ensure creative and content production is in alignment with the marketing goals and business planning process. 

5. Lead project management for maintaining the overall look and feel of the brand across all print and digital presences. 

6. Guide the development and implementation of digital campaigns across all  platforms, from initial presentations through final delivery. 

7. Ensure timely and on-budget planning and production of creative concepts that are used in all visual communication mediums including, but not limited to online marketing, website, social media, and print, video, event branding. Provide support and consult for review of communications and messaging. 

8. Work in SalesForce and Marketing Cloud to create email marketing materials for the CSC and the Regional offices, as well as all internal clients (eg. Executive Office and Talent & Knowledge) 

Must have: 

 Creative Marketing Leadership – Ability to create and implement creative marketing plans and programs using a diverse range of digital platforms. 

 Integrated Marketing Expertise - Expertise in building integrated marketing programs across retail, digital, social and traditional platforms. 

 Agency Experience – from an advertising or digital marketing perspective 

 Project Management - Hands-on experience leading projects involving: Product/Program Marketing; Branding; Marketing Communications; Social Media; Public Relations; Print and Event Marketing, resulting in strong and impactful integrated marketing plans 

 Relationship Management - A proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships internally and externally 

 Results Driven Track Record – Drive success across key performance and financial metrics, including email marketing and social media 


Experience: 

5-10 years of agency management experience with a focus on marketing, public relations, creative production or advertising. Experience creating a vision and concepts for client brands and leading cross- functional teams within an agency required. 

Required: 

o Solid graphic design expertise including with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch, or equivalent. 

o Developed integrated marketing programs by creating graphics, video, and media for digital and social platforms 

o Managed, coached, and developed staff and output across a variety of teams. 

o Experience working with the creative development process  

o Experience working in a decentralized environment 

o Significant (3-5 years) experience in partnership marketing preferred 

o Proficient in social media technology 

o Experience with CRM and database marketing preferred
