***Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)***

1) Floorplan Design and Prototype Development
• Provide conceptualization and development of reference stores and prototypes using design disciplines and inputs from cross functional teams. (Space Management, Retail, Retail Operations, Services, Labor, Loss Prevention, Risk Management, IS, EDS, Properties, and the business teams)
• Build interior floor plans incorporating fixtures, product merchandising, and macro level signage. Create floorplan designs that integrate customer input, look and feel, department & product flow, and sightlines while optimizing adjacencies. Identify, resolve and communicate new ideas or potential issues during the process. Complete floor plans in an accurate and timely manner that fit within criteria and project milestones.
• Space Planning – Understand and leverage key Space Management and Business Team inputs such as Planogram Version sales, Gross Margin return on space, product adjacencies, and Section Count recommendations to increase the efficiency of floor plans and optimize use of retail space. Collaborate with planogramming and Design Integration partners for additional business and design insight.
• Coordinate Merchandise layouts with planograms (SM) proofing to ensure merchandising accuracy and to align with inventory on CA objectives.
• Utilize Store Plan HQ Software to implement floor plan changes

2) Architectural Drafting
• Responsible for creation of floor plans, elevations, site plans, and construction documents as they relate to the development of retail environments utilizing standard prototype criteria & macro space tools
• Work in conjunction with Project Development, Space Management, Display Management and other departments in all phases of the project (development to grand opening).
• Evaluation of retail environments for operational compliance. This will include but be not limited to stock and merchandise areas, loss prevention and store operations.
• Conduct site surveys to include field verifications
• Maintain a current, accurate and up-to-date project file including both drawings and all correspondence.
• Perform special projects as assigned

3) Communication and Coordination
• May coordinate with APM, CPM, Architects, Engineers, and General Contractors to keep architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings accurate and up to date. Evaluate initiated store layout change requests with PDM, implement drawing updates when feasible, and advise impacted parties of changes.
• Post all current plans to shared web-site. Communicate changes and responsibilities to all parties effected
• Assist the team in various tasks required to ensure the smooth transition of data between all departments (as needed).
• Attend Prototype and X-list meetings to facilitate better communication to the parties affected as to the changes directed by those work streams. (as needed).

4) Data Integrity
• Provide accurate and timely information to other departments as requested and in coordination with identified processes. Collaborate with Space Management team members

5) Personal Development and Continuous Improvement
• Engage in personal training and development through active involvement in PPM and Talent Powered Processes.
• Partner with team to develop process improvement strategies that support the Best Buy Enterprise goal of “Speed to Market” and Efficient Enterprise.
• Provide ideas and solutions for system enhancements.
• Support and adapt to process changes.
