JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for organizing, coordinating, editing, proofing and assisting in writing internal and external company pieces. This would include, but is not limited to, product overviews, educational whitepapers,

commentaries, standard reporting pieces, client letters, presentation materials, other narratives and responses,

and all web content. The candidate is also expected to be able to write original content such as market

commentaries when necessary.


The overall goal: to have a centralized resource to ensure an accurate and

consistent message and style across all mediums.




RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

 Review, edit, poof and assist in writing content created by Product Managers or investment

professionals throughout the firm

 As needed, write original content such as market commentaries as well as be able to write short

summaries of white papers for

 Create verbiage to be used on emails, internal and external banners, and other materials to market

white papers and commentaries.

 Ensure that all qualitative content is consistent in all communications media including publications,

graphics presentations and the web

 Ensure that all content is integrated and aligned with business strategies of portfolio management,

product management and account management groups

 Work with compliance/legal staff to ensure content is compliant with applicable regulations

 Involvement in firm communications effort

 Maintain and apply Western Asset Style Guide

 Help maintain global communications calendar for white papers, multimedia presentations, webcasts,

etc.

 With Communications manager, brainstorm new ways to improve internal flow of

information/knowledge-sharing



QUALIFICATIONS:

 Must have comprehensive knowledge of investment products, including fixed income strategies

 Must have 3-5 years of financial writing or editorial experience, to include fixed income topics

 Strong communication skills are essential. Must possess the ability to work effectively and

professionally with all levels of personnel

 Must have project management skills and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced

environment

 College degree required. CFA designation considered a plus, but not required

 The position requires excellent time management and organizational skills

 Candidate must be a team player and self-motivated and demonstrate a willingness to take on more

responsibility

 Proficiency in software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite, Bloomberg,

etc
