Vitamin T client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing and Financial writer to work on site for 6+ weeks. This candidate will be filling for a maternity leave replacement. Candidates should have strong financial writing experience, at least 8+ years of writing for or in the financial, investment or banking industry. Writing samples should be included with each application.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

In general, we need someone who can do ad hoc writing, editing and proofing; including web content (client site and microsites) and print materials.

We really need someone with a knowledge of Financial Services (think Kiplinger and Vanguard) who can breakdown Financial Speak for the consumer but also communicate HR related policies internally to employees.

Rough estimate of allocation of time:
· Editing: 30%

· Proofing: 15%

· Writing: 35%

· Project Management: 20% >if that..

Major Purpose:
Plans, manages, researches, writes and edits internal and/or external communications and major corporate initiatives.

Provides strategic communications counsel to and develops communications plans for internal clients to meet business needs/goals. Ensures consistent strategic messaging in all communications.

Essential Job Functions:
Writes and provides communications counsel to support various corporate activities.

Constituent audiences may include employees, industry (securities firms, arbitrator/mediators), investors and other external audiences.

Leads discussions with clients and recommends appropriate content and strategies based on business goals and client objectives.

Role includes research, production of outlines/drafts for review, coordination of feedback and production of finalized communications, which may include brochures, web pages, webcast/podcast scripts, speeches/talking points, articles and other forms of communication.

Writes articles and other material on behalf of senior management; as well as develop, research, write, edit, proofread and manage select strategic corporate communications projects.

May be asked to adapt materials for delivery in different media (print, electronic, broadcast). Responsible for developing and managing range of projects and tracking and meeting deadlines.

Proactively evaluates and recommends enhancements to existing material.

Ensures content complies with corporate brand standards, legal and compliance.

Ensures completion and delivery of communications by working with design, print production and/or web services

Other Responsibilities:

Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent experience.

More than 10 years of communications experience, preferably including financial services and/or securities industry experience.

Established ability to produce major communications products and to write and manage multiple creative projects on an ongoing basis.

Experience writing for various media (print, electronic, broadcast). Demonstrated superior communications skills, including writing, editing and proofing.

Ability to produce copy quickly and meet tight deadlines. Established ability to influence and negotiate with subject experts and/or executive-level staff.
