Field Marketing Specialist

This is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the Marketing Manager. The Field 
Marketing Specialist will manage the implementation of marketing strategies to grow the 
brand and sales activity in corporate café and breakspaces, following 
the directives in the company’s Vision 2020. Working with the Marketing Manager and 
senior divisional leadership, the FMC will lead both the campaign and branding 
development and in-store execution of marketing efforts.

The Field Marketing Specialist is a proactive communicator, project manager, and 
creative problem solver. His/her ability to collaborate, communicate solutions and 
opportunities, and foster relationships will be essential assets that will allow him/her to 
act as a strong in-market leader. He/she will confidently manage marketing projects on 
behalf of external and internal clients, while utilizing designers and leveraging best-in- 
class marketing tools.

The FMC has exceptional communication and resource management skills, both verbal 
and written. He/she has developed the ability to identify and pursue sales and marketing 
opportunities, contributing to the success both in-store and in business development 
settings. He/she represents the brand with the highest degree of professionalism, 
serving as brand ambassador at all times.

The FMC will gain the respect of the entire team, vendors, clients and customers, 
and partners. He/she is defined by a solid work ethic, with strong personal and 
professional integrity. The FMC regularly acknowledges the contributions of those 
around him/her and more importantly understands how those contributions fit into the 
success of the Dining Services division.

Essential Duties

Create and manage annual calendar of in-store and online marketing efforts in 
support of 20+ cafés and new venture programs 
- Manage annual marketing budget in support of Dining Services 
- Manage and implement in-store, online and email marketing initiatives 
- Manage established partnership relationships and meet quarterly with clients to 
support growth strategies 
- Work with store managers to execute in-store customer events and promotions 
- Design, develop, and distribute content marketing deliverables 
- Manage creation of graphics and illustrative copy 
- Manage content and creative development of print and electronic sales tools 
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends and behaviors 
- Manage customer and prospect database in support of marketing initiatives 
- Compile and present marketing reporting based on customer and prospect analytics 
- Maintain and distribute marketing materials 
- Participate in key industry organizations

- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communications 
- Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing 
- Strong project management skills 
- Field marketing experience including promotions and events execution preferred 
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred 
- Experience with social media tools 
- Experience with writing and editing copy 
- Familiarity with CMS and marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics) a plus.

The ideal candidate is 
- Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities under minimal 
- Able to travel 1-2 days weekly within the Metro Chicago area to meet with café 
- Able to think critically and exercise independent judgment and discretion 
- Technologically-savvy and resourceful 
- Results-oriented and solution-focused with a problem-solving attitude 
- Team player 
- Able to exercise strong attention to detail 
- An effective communicator and presenter in both speaking and writing 
- Self-motivated with a learning attitude and a sense of urgency 
- Highly organized 
- Able to work nights/weekends when needed 
- Experienced with account management, or client or franchisee relationships
