We are looking for a Features Editor to work for a Tech and Entertainment giant based in central London. This contract will run until the end of June 2017 but will then be potentially extended to a rolling contract if all goes well.

Our client's website is one of the UK’s most popular websites with around 16 million unique users every month; it is a key part of their wider eco-system that includes their products such as Gaming, Online Tech and Office Software.

This website gets the majority of its content from premium partners including The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph, Financial Times, The Week, AOL, Press Association, City AM, Sky News, Popsugar, The Verge, amongst dozens of others. Their ‘partner-led’ editorial eco-system provides a unique and unrivalled depth and breadth of content that is expertly curated to inform, inspire, entertain and delight their audience.

The website supports the client's wider Storefronts business and provides a unique environment to introduce consumers to their wider eco-system of apps and devices. They have a responsibility to ensure promotion and conversion for apps and store products.

We are looking for an experienced digital media specialist to join their Features team, covering Entertainment, Lifestyle, Food, Health and Travel sections. The key focus will be to use their knowledge and experience to drive growth, engagement and conversion for the site. The successful candidate will be an experienced digital media editor, a content marketing or journalism professional with experience in a fast paced media environment.

The successful candidate will be relied upon to be in tune with the national, international and global Entertainment, Travel, Lifestyle, Health and Food agenda, and work with the editorial team to understand the topics and trends in lifestyle and entertainment that will be of most interest to their audience. You will be prioritising the editorial content displayed on the homepage, tracking its success and adjusting as needed to ensure the page is rich and relevant at all times of the day or night. You must keep the site focused and fresh to deliver the largest possible audience ensuring and be the gatekeeper of quality, credibility and integrity to ensure the brand promise is kept.

Commercially the client has a responsibility to ensure campaigns, sponsorships and promotions achieve their targets so you must ensure these campaigns are supported and the advertisers achieve their goals.

Data and reporting tools provide the client with significant analysis and learnings and as such are a constant ‘North Star’ for their business and decision-making. You must be comfortable in this ‘data rich’ environment and be able to use the information at hand to create actionable insights to optimise the site and drive performance.

The ideal candidate will be a super user of digital publishing technology, an expert navigator of content management systems and be as comfortable with the technical as he or she is with the editorial.

• Write brilliant headlines and use brilliant images to sell stories.
• Meet and exceed daily, weekly and monthly audience targets.
• Ensure commercial page view and impression targets are met.
• Ensure app promotions and store promotions are supported and optimised.
• Be focused on delivering audience, engagement and conversion growth.
• Manage, track, analyse and report on audience, engagement and commercial performance.
• Enable the homepage to deliver traffic to the other verticals.
• Coordinate cross-channel initiatives as needed.
• Liaise with a variety of editorial and commercial teams.
• Use real time monitoring to refresh and change content mix in tune with user engagement.
