Feature Product Owner / Product Manager

Aquent is currently searching for a Feature Product Manager for our valued client in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be the feature product owner or product manager to provide design and user experience direction and leadership to development teams. The role requires a strong interest in new technology and a passion for providing the best customer experience possible. The candidate must be familiar with agile software development and be comfortable creating clear and well-formed use cases for development teams. The product owner must be self-driven, able to work well with other team members, communicate product status and manage risks. This position reports to the manager of the Product Owner team global business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fulfill the feature product owner role in the Scrum Agile Framework.
• Develop compelling, industry leading user experiences for HP’s solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert for a given set of technologies.
• Understand the customer and be their advocate at all times.
• Assist with the creation of visual representations of the user experience (wireframes, storyboards, etc.).
• Create concise user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

Key Skills:
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The individual will be required to articulate design decisions to executive management, and at the same time work well with the development and QA teams.
• Familiarity and experience with agile software development (Scrum preferred)
• Must have a passion for new technology and the customer experience.
• Be able to turn a market vision into an innovative and exciting user experience and effectively articulate it so the Engineering and QA teams can deliver a product that addresses the vision..
• Routinely exercise independent judgment, but contribute and collaborate with other product management team members.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
• Prior experience to develop and take new initiatives to launch.
• Knowledge of cloud services, systems management software and PC hardware technology.

Experience and Capabilities Needed:
• Prior experience with the development and launch process of commercial-grade products.
• Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal interaction skills; ability to build, manage and influence teams.
• Excellent negotiation, consensus-building and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines.
• Track record of delivering products and solutions which affect multiple functional matrices in a Fortune 500 technology company.
