External Communications Writer

Critical to this role is creating external communications, namely writing and maintaining content published in partner-facing help centers, decks, and more for this top tech company. As part of our team, you’ll plan, write, and edit external content for products across our portfolio, bringing a strict focus on clarity. You’ll work proactively to create clear, detailed content to help partners onboard and thrive while continuously working to increase comprehension, product adoption, and issue resolution. You have the ability to cue a partner’s next steps with insightful word choice and an understanding of the customer mindset. You can integrate feedback from a number of stakeholders and varying perspectives for a seamless, integrated end product. This is an individual contributor role requiring creativity, business sense, and editorial experience. Success in this role requires knowledge of externally-focused communications, online content development/management, and project management. In short, we’re looking for someone who is relentless about breaking down complex concepts into component parts and building the written content that allow our partners to master them.

Responsibilities
● Work closely with subject matter experts to distill complex technical concepts and procedures into clear, actionable documentation
● Write original, high quality help materials (process / concept overviews, instructional materials)
● Integrate feedback from a number of stakeholders and varying perspectives to create a cohesive, partner-focused end product
● Apply brand-specific style and technical guidelines

Minimum qualifications
● Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly.
● Ability to write in a range of styles and tones, from highly technical to more informal.
● Proven ability to maintain multiple assignments simultaneously, work independently, and drive projects to completion with minimum guidance and high attention to detail. Preferred qualifications
● Graphic and creative design skills.
● Experience with and/or writing about complex technology-based products for a technically-savvy audience - excellent quick study in technical concepts.
● Clear understanding of business needs and sensitivity to differences across various groups (functions, regions, etc).
● Persistence to iterate, refine and improve constantly

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
4+ years of experience working on customer-facing documentation, in collaboration with groups such as Product Management and Support Services.
Proficiency with a range of content design and technical writing,
*Strongly preferred High tech content writing

Soft Skills:
Proven record of managing complex documentation projects through the complete development life cycle.
Proficient journalistic writer and editor with an eye for detail and awareness for nuance and can translate highly technical content into user friendly/ smooth content
Excellent communication and organizational skills. Requires minimal supervision.
Experience producing writing documents and writing for external entities with an easy approach, navigates ambiguity well, identifies gaps, ability to determine best flow of written content
