Come and work for one of the largest membership organizations in the United States! My client is seeking a seasoned Email Marketing Manager to sit onsite in their Washington, DC office. This is a long term, full time contract opportunity.

Immediate need for an experienced e-mail marketing manager with a "can do" attitude who enjoys a fast-paced environment to leverage the email channel and consistently grow traffic and engagement. The Marketing Manager will be tasked with implementing the aggressive acquisition and retention strategy by managing multiple house lists that demonstrate ongoing relevancy to the customer base. He/she will be required to execute and optimize email marketing campaigns for 7 distinct newsletter lists and other email campaigns to ensure programs are in-line with objectives and expectations.

DESCRIPTION:
• Assist Senior Marketing Manager with the development and implementation of company's email newsletter strategic plans including acquisition campaigns to grow the email list size.
• Prepare, test and execute email marketing campaigns for Health, Travel, Money, Leisure, En Espanol, Welcome Email and Daily News Alerts lists with the goal of converting non-responders to active users to increase page views.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for improved segment performance by subscriber type (active, passive, inactive).
• Coordinate email calendar to meet desired execution dates, maximize the audience, and minimize conflict.
• Manage & optimize acquisition campaigns in both paid and non-paid, external and in-house.
• Ensure email is within policy & guidelines with the AARP Brand in mind.
• Coordinate messaging and content in newsletters with Senior Marketing Manager, Editorial, and the agency and e-mail delivery vendor.
• Analyze and report on email campaign performance on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Identify trends and opportunities for improved open, click thru and conversion rates.
• Work with product management and IT services to improve email subscription processes and other on-site improvements to facilitate list growth

REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BS in marketing or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience executing email and direct response campaigns.
• Strong understanding of email communication strategies -- both written and visual, deliverability, and segmentation practices.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience using email distribution and reporting applications.
• Excellent project management and Microsoft office skills.
