Events Marketing Manager

Our client, a non-profit in the healthcare space, is looking to hire an Events Marketing Manager for a year long contract! You’d be helping prep for their big event, which is held yearly in December in Orlando. Ideally, they’d love to have this person attend the event coming up on December 6th – 9th in Orlando (ALL EXPENSES PAID!) and then start the role full time in January,

The role would be onsite in their Cambridge, MA office.

Position Summary:
In concert with the National Forum team, create and manage the execution of the National Forum marketing plan to achieve 6,000 attendees at the 28th National Forum on Quality Improvement in Health Care, taking place in December 2016.

Position Responsibilities:
Review current National Forum marketing plan and advise on how to improve, add to, make it the best it can be to achieve stated attendance goals for 2016.
Execute on the marketing tactics, which include but are not limited to:
Creating additional robust and exciting effective marketing tactics
Building and updating timely, complete, and compelling web content,
o Producing collateral material,
o Utilizing social media,
o Generating and administering email campaigns,
o Creating and placing advertising,
o Maximizing SEO,
o Generating and organizing the best leads to send to sales
· Update the organization regularly on what tactics are underway, and what’s worked
· Oversee the marketing budget and make sure money is being spent in the most effective way to generate additional attendees.
· Optimize cross-selling opportunities to make sure the National Forum is promoted at all IHI programs.
· Evaluate the results of each marketing effort and incorporate lessons learned in all subsequent plans.
Work cross-functionally to produce content marketing pieces.
· Working with external vendors on sponsorship/exhibit sales, calling campaigns, and other tactics as needed.

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong acumen for conference marketing strategies and execution
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Extremely strong writing skills and proofreading abilities
Proficiency with office systems and computers, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Highly energetic, motivated, and resourceful
"Out-of-the-box" innovative approach
Highly creative, full of ideas and possibilities
Strong strategic thinker
Decisive and a self-starter
Deadline driven
Innate instincts for the market and customer needs
Willingness to pitch in when necessary at all task levels

Position Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in a conference or program marketing role
Significant project management experience required
Experience with Google Analytics and HubSpot (or another marketing software service) preferred
Experience in and knowledge of the health care field and prior work with medical staff are considered a plus.
