This TOP social media company located in Menlo Park, Ca is seeking an Events Marketing Logistics Coordinator is to support the Oculus Events Marketing Manager in planning, producing and executing brand and product activations at industry, consumer and proprietary events. The focus of the role is to lead on all operations and logistics that touch Event and Product Marketing. This is a 6 month contract, based in Menlo Park, Ca, Salary: Up to $24.10/hr DOE.

As part of logistics, this person will oversee procurement, allocation and shipment of hardware, equipment and swag across all Event Marketing and Marketing activations. The coordinator will explore internal systems for use in logistics coordination globally, identify gaps or opportunities and develop and implement systems to deliver real-time planning, execution and analysis.

The job requires excellent written and oral communications, a working knowledge of event logistics and procurement processes, (preferably in a technology product environment), execution time lines and a strong attention to detail. The role requires excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills, familiarity with asset tracking software solutions, international shipping requirements, strong organization skills and work ethic.

This job includes moderate domestic and international travel (20-30%) to execute events at major US and EU trade shows, festivals and proprietary events.

Additionally, this role engages with Brand, Channel, Strategic and Product Marketing groups and will support special projects across those segments as applicable. This position works across the organization touching the Product (Rift & Mobile), Hardware, Creative, Studios and Publishing Teams (and other teams across the organization).

Responsibilities

Provide project management and cross functional team leadership for procurement, shipping and inventory management of all hardware, equipment and swag for Event, Strategic and Product Marketing
Develop and maintain solid relationships with procurement, shipping and storage vendors
Help negotiate procurement and shipping contracts and manage annual expense budget line items
Execute purchase orders in partnership with the finance team to ensure all vendor payments are completed in a timely manner
Financial management of Event Marketing logistics and procurement budget creation and monitoring revenue/expense performance
Track comprehensive logistics metrics and ROI for reporting and analysis post event, producing Logistics scorecard
Onsite management and inventory control of all equipment during trade shows and events.
Manage, communicate, and maintain timelines and priorities on every Logistics project. Document logistics plans and manifests and distribute to to team members.
Support logistics for Hackathons and Diversity events to support our core goals and values. Track event activations and track data for review and analysis.
Successfully manage end to end projects ensuring a high level of quality
Spearhead and or support special projects, and internal projects on an as need basis
Adapt to crisis situations, changing procedures, methods or processes
Contribute to overall team success by identifying problems and proactively seeking out methods to improve self-performance and/or efficiency of an operation or task
Requirements:
3 years experience in Product Marketing Logistics and or Event Logistics field
Self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong computer software skills, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Keynote
Basic computer hardware understanding. Advanced knowledge of mobile computing hardware such as tablets and, mobile phones as it relates to gaming and virtual reality
Knowledge of 3rd party web and enterprise applications for inventory management, procurement, event guide apps, payment processing and PCI Compliance
A proven track record of supporting large-scale marketing-focused events such as trade shows, conferences, meetings and events, including shipping, inventory tracking, analysis and reporting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment, juggling multiple projects at once
Availability and willingness to travel
Passion for virtual reality. Familiarity with gaming, film, TV and/or digital entertainment a plus.
