Position- Part-Time Events Coordinator (maternity leave coverage)
Location-Boston, MA
Start date-March 20
Duration- June 23

Work is to be done onsite. Remote is not an option.

Hourly pay rate range- $35-41hr

This is a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), temporary position with a FORTUNE 500 TECH GIANT. Client is looking for assistance on key projects taking place between March 20 and June 23, 2017 (during a maternity leave). There may be some fluctuation in those dates.

There will be scheduled phone calls that the Talent will be asked to cover during the 20 hours week so some elements of the schedule will be fixed, some elements will be flexible.

The ideal candidate will be available to work in the Burlington, MA on occasion but the majority of the work will be done on-site on Boylston Street. Possible travel to one event in Chicago for a few days.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working with a cross-functional team, leads the planning process for major events, including goal setting, schedules, communications, content and execution plans.
• Oversees the content and creative development process for event communications, presentations, signage and other branding.
• Presents event plans to large cross-functional groups, including executive steering committees and field sales teams.
• Interfaces with clients to bring customer showcases to life.
• Works closely with corporate marketing and product marketing to ensure event strategy aligns to corporate goals and the event messaging, demos, branding, etc. adheres to corporate standards.
• Partners with regional marketing and sales teams to achieve demand generation goals.
• Provides direction to and helps manages external agencies to achieve desired results.
• Manages event budgets.
• Oversees event execution on-site.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Marketing or Business.
• 6+ years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (with a strong emphasis on tradeshow and event planning).
• Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to use collaboration tools such as Smartsheet and GoogleDrive.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.
• Must quickly grasp company messaging and branding.
• Capable of both setting strategy and executing on logistics.
• Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
• Knowledge of conference facilities, technology and equipment.
• Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.
• Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to create, compose, and edit event marketing materials.
• Ability to oversee the design, development, and production of event marketing materials.
• Ability to drive projects independently while closely collaborating with others.
• Comfortable presenting in front of large audiences.
• Must keep composure in deadline-driven, high-stress situations.
• Occasional domestic and international travel required.
• A track record of success managing similar types of events in a B2B technology setting is required.
