Events Coordinator - Technical Infrastructure (PT)

Long term contract opportunity with Fortune 500 Technology company!

This position will function under the direction of the Technical Marketing Events Manager. The Technical Infrastructure Coordinator will assist with the planning, coordination, execution and evaluation of network and technical equipment requirements for events managed by the Corporate Event’s Team. This position will provide administrative support and be responsible for the on-site setup, management and load out of event-related equipment requests for event functions.
Full training will be provided for the candidate that shows a passion for marketing, customer service and the goals of event project management. For on-site support, candidate must be able to work weekends and evenings as well as some overnight travel to support planned events.

Work Schedule
This will be a part-time position from September 2013 to June 2014 (with possibility of extension), where the allocation of work will initially be 10% planning, 75% administrative work and post event tasks and 15% executing on site. The evaluation of the schedule and work allocation will be evaluated and adjusted on regular basis as needed.

Work Hours
In-Office (maximum 24 hours/week)
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 - 6:00pm

Requirements
The Technical Infrastructure Coordinator must be a team-oriented individual who enjoys working with others in a fast-paced environment and capable of maintaining relationships with company employees, vendors and customers. The qualified individual must be capable of understanding and handling technical requirements for large events and has the capability to deliver on project plans.
Additional requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree;
• Two years administrative experience or event/project management experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training or education;
• One year experience in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual, computer or multimedia equipment;
• Experience in the use of electronic communications, including social media applications;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create personal relationships on all levels;
• Strong organizational skills with "hand's on" attitude;
• Experience in event planning and evaluation;
• Experience in marketing, communications, public relations, and higher education or not-for-profit environments;
• Ability to exercise appropriate judgement under general direction
