Event Coordinator

We are looking for a creative self-starter to become part of an events and communications team at this top tech company. This team is responsible for all our direct contacts with our growing developer community and works with the marketing team as well as outside agencies to produce events and workshops on site and at trade shows, where attendance can range from 50 to 50,000. You will be expected to work independently on small events, and assist the events team in large events.

The project you will be working on is a new mobile technology that enables augmented reality experiences on smartphones. Using their smartphone, users can see navigation signs and arrows painted on the world in front of them, see monsters battle each other on their kitchen table, and measure and scan the world around them.

Responsibilities:
- Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event productions, including making site visits and conducting independent research.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Assist Program Manager in execution of larger events as needed
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress, changes, staffing needs and costs.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks, resolve issues as they arise, and escalate as appropriate.
- Initiates updates, resolves issues and identifies process improvements; May develop processes to improve efficiencies within the local project
- Able to identify the need to develop or improve tools or processes (software tools, techniques, automation) and create repeatability and scalability

Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
- Over 3 years working experience in event management involving internal and external parties
- General understanding of software development and web publishing
- Passion and curiosity to proactively learn about new products and technologies
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Proficient at Google docs, presentations and spreadsheets.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for the degree
