Event Coordinator

There is travel involved, and until the 2nd coordinator comes onboard, they will be expected to travel at least once a month.

The Event Coordinator aids in many marketing and event coordination functions and will have the opportunity to gain a wide spectrum of experience in a new and thriving fast-paced business environment. Daily responsibilities include: assisting with event/trade show coordination, processing, tracking events and consumer-facing activations. The unique position requires an individual that poses a positive attitude, strong organization skills, the ability to multi-task, communicate effectively both verbally and written, and be eager to learn!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Marketing team in preparing for tradeshows and special event activities; may be responsible for special exhibit areas.
• Assist with planning, sourcing, pricing, scheduling and communication for tradeshows and special event activations.
• Assist in creating, sourcing, and monitoring stock promotional material used at events and as giveaway items.
• Maintain communication with outside events to ensure deliverables are on schedule.
• Respond to written and oral correspondence regarding sponsorship and advertising requests; filter non-relevant proposals.
• Coordinate the professional, administrative and promotional duties associated with the planning and implementation of events, activations and tradeshows
that promote marketing messages to targeted audiences, increase brand awareness and drive sales.
• Coordinate all event logistics, on site set up of event activation, sampling and representation of brand at events, event break down and event analysis/ follow-up.
• Assist on site with international events, trade shows, and large corporate event executions.

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:
• Experience with PC and Mac based communications and analysis including Internet, E-mail, MS Office etc.
• Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
• Must be detail and solution oriented.
• Highly energetic and a self-starter.
• Ability to pitch in and write event proposals, marketing activation ideas etc.
• Strong decision making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
• Skillful at promoting ideas and interacting positively and with confidence.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize a variety of tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proven internal and external communication skills both written and oral.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Marketing/Business Administration related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with a global consumer brand.
• Refined training and presentation skills.
• Experience with sales contact management (salesforce.com) and quoting software a plus.
• 2+ years experience in planning and execution of events

HOURS AND TRAVEL:
• Minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Irregular hours as dictated by events.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed based on event schedule.
• Domestic and International travel at least once a month.
