Environmental Brand Designer

As the Designer I, working under the direction of a Sr. Designer or Director, you’ll collaborate in the development of innovative and original retail environments and fixture designs. You’ll use your advanced design skills to create 2D and 3D retail design solutions that reflect design ethos, support retail business targets, and enhance the consumer retail experience. You’ll work within team projects and work independently to complete the most technically challenging individual projects. In addition, you’ll need to communicate and present design concepts to team/leader/Director and create presentation materials that effectively communicate vision and goals.

Duties:
The nature of the work is focused on the appearance of product, communications, or collateral materials. With direction from departmental directors, Designer develops innovative and creative design solutions to support market initiatives and brand messages. Provides appropriate documentation and works responsibly within project timeframes and budget parameters. Team and individual ideation and concept activities. Assists in the creation or re-formatting of multi-media digital communication assets to support networked retail communication efforts. Participates in the design and development process. Interacts with appropriate resources to plan and monitor the process in order to meet specified needs and resolve identified issues. Build working relationships of mutual respect, trust and credibility within associated departments: Direct / In-direct Retail, Brand & RetailMarketing, EMTS, Footwear and Apparel. Assist on larger projects which elevate the brand experience though original storytelling using 2D and 3D design for consumer-facing brand experience

Lead on smaller design projects from 2D graphic to 3D fixture executions

Work with production designers to execute electronic files for production purposes

Collaborate with outside vendors to ensure production quality and executions are flawless

Design with clear ideation, through typography, color, texture, spacing, scale and outstanding use of environments.

Design with versatility and constantly seek new and innovative ways to design for consumer experience; graphics, photography, retail and digital

Work collaboratively between cross-functional teams

Skills:
Ability to apply and perform design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer-based creative art and design. Familiarity with current trends, color, and design. Must be computer literate using Macintosh computer design applications. Effective oral and written communications skills in local market language, including presentations. Proficient information-seeking skills and drive for results. ability to share ideas and develop effective responses. Typical Office: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic, Architectural or Industrial Design

2-3 years of Graphic Design, experiential design, or brand design and demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence

A clean, innovative aesthetic and taste-level

Proven ability to perform and apply design skills, including architectural design, space planning, visual presentation development and layout, proportion and scale

Ability to manage a dynamic set of multiple work priorities, demands and changes

Retail design industry/environments and fixture design experience is preferred

High level of expertise using Macintosh computer design applications and SketchUp is preferred
