Employee Communication Specialist

It’s the job of the Employee Communication team to inform and educate employees about what’s happening at our Global Medical Device client, to align everyone on the company’s vision and strategies, and to discover and implement creative, strategic opportunities to improve executive visibility.

We’re looking for a go-getter who’s willing to learn and take initiative, who’s hungry to make a meaningful contribution right out of the gate and who’s able to think up creative new ways to engage employees – and then deliver on them.

To succeed here, you’ll need to be able to both see the big picture – mapping out communication plans that creatively support business objectives – and sweat the small

stuff, because, sometimes, it’s the details that matter most. You’ll also need a strong sense of voice and culture.


• Develop strategies and vehicles for communicating business and functional updates to employees. Determine how best to leverage and utilize key communication tools to engage employees, help managers be better communicators and improve executive visibility. In other words, ensure the right information gets delivered to the right employees at the right times in the right ways.

• Develop and edit video and written communication, including messages from senior executives. Be able to adapt your tone and style to match the message, audience and author.

• Assist in whatever logistics are necessary to ensure routine, reliable electronic and face-to-face communication, including targeted email communication, employee meetings and webcasts.

• Manage multiple deadlines, details and priorities, ensuring consistency with overall company goals.

Position requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, public relations, English, marketing or related discipline.

• Must have 4-6 years of related experience. Experience working in a business environment in a large corporation preferred.

• A strong writer and editor. Prior to interview, must submit at least three writing samples.

• Ability to take initiative, and act independently and responsibly.

• A creative team player who can work calmly and quickly in fast-paced environments.

Ability to be flexible and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.

• A problem-solver who is able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles of communication strategies and tactics in a fast-paced, high-stakes business environment.

• Must be able to interact with executives with confidence, and provide advice on communication that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style.
