Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
Duration: 12 - 14 Month Contract (Maternity Cover)

Our client is one of the world’s largest money managers operating in 23 locations across the globe that comprises centralised global distribution capabilities and specialised investment management firms providing investment solutions across equity, fixed income and alternative asset classes.
The business comprises International and US distribution activities with a focus on distributing a wide range of products effectively across different intermediary channels and across geographies. Global marketing supports global distribution activities through close partnership with sales to develop strategic and tactical marketing initiatives to help drive sales.
This role is based in London within the European marketing function, which is part of international marketing (a function within Global Marketing) that supports international distribution activities. The international business is broad, with on-the ground presence in London, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Madrid, Melbourne, Miami, Milan, New York, Paris, Singapore, Tokyo and Taipei.

Department Overview:
The European marketing team is responsible for driving the marketing strategy and delivering strategic and tactical marketing initiatives across a range of intermediary channels in the UK and Europe to help drive sales. The European marketing function supports all activities related to funds domiciled in the UK, Dublin and Luxembourg. The Marketing team also acts as a hub in providing key product and positioning communications to the international offices in Asia, Japan, Latin America, Australia and Miami (Americas Offshore).

Position Description:
The Email Marketing Specialist role is an integral part of the marketing function and key to a well - managed email and content distribution strategy. Emails play a fundamental role in a successful communication, content distribution and contact strategy. It is essential to manage the email calendar and to assist in driving the strategic direction of email communications.
This role will require very close coordination with the channel managers and content producers to make sure that all digital content distribution needs are met. Responsiveness, thoroughness, the ability to turn things around in a timely manner and plan and project manage effectively as well as a strict adherence to policy and procedure amidst a high volume environment are critical in this role.
Given the growing importance of e-marketing in the industry, the candidate will need to keep abreast of what our competitors are doing within the various channels that we deal with (e.g. advisory) and developments being made in other industries.

Key Duties:
Co-ordinate and manage all email marketing campaigns from start to finish — content, sign off, layout, message, segmentation, analysis, webforms and email landing pages, reporting back to stakeholders etc. Work closely with the channel marketing team, design and content writers.
Maintain email calendar and other emarketing matrices.
Liaise with CRM team to ensure Silverpop and SalesForce integration works well.
Monitor bounces and deliverability.
Work closely with channel marketing and sales teams to understand the customer data and relevant ‘interests’ in SalesForce to optimise customer segmentation for emails.

Work with Presentations team on teleconference and webcast communications (invites, reminders, post-event recordings etc.).
Liaise with counterparts in USA and AsiaPac to ensure a coordinated effort and approach is taken with the European email initiatives.
Keep up to date with email marketing / industry developments - keep abreast of asset management best practice to ensure that the business is being competitive in its email strategy.

Build and maintain strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ensure all emails adhere to those requirements, to include but not limited to the principle of 'treating customers fairly'
To ensure that all external communications meet FCA and local regulatory requirements and are structured to meet the principle of 'treating customers fairly'

Key Competencies & Skills
Experience in the management of email campaigns using an ESP such as Silverpop
Essential to have solid HTML skills and use of Dreamweaver or similar
Experience of working with CRM software such as Salesforce and writing queries in ESP to appropriately segment and pull appropriate contacts for email dissemination
Ability to analyse email campaign results and respond accordingly in putting together future communications

Increase engagement and uphold retention through effective customer targeting and analysis or results

Experience of optimising e-mail for mobile would be advantageous
Some experience with design packages, e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks preferable

Familiarity with Social Media platforms
Ability to demonstrate an interest in or an understanding of mutual funds, financial products, the asset management business and European regulatory requirements

Personal Skills:
Takes pride in ensuring work is accurate and has an excellent attention to detail
Takes responsibility for own work – identifies the implications of changes in the business, ensures work is accurate and to a high standard
Able to work independently and on multiple tasks / projects concurrently
Excellent time management and adherence to deadlines – plans work to ensure on-time delivery, manages expectations alerting channel managers to any changes in deliverables, prioritises work effectively according to business need
Strong communication, project management and organisational skills
Foreign language skills would be advantageous but not essential

Education:
Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification preferably in related areas such as Marketing, English, Business, Finance
