Email Marketing Specialist

The eCommerce, E-Mail Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and managing e-mail marketing strategies for client that will raise the level of new customer acquisition, retention, and up selling on the site. This role is a key part in directing the development of e-mail campaigns in collaboration with cross-functional teams managing interactive marketing, channel marketing, web analytics, mobile commerce, direct mail, tablet, design and copy.


  • Organize and manage all aspects of email campaigns and programs
  • Serve as an email liaison between cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with eCommerce Marketing, Brand Marketing, Creative Services, Planning, Product and IMT teams to ensure creative integrity is maintained for all email strategies
  • Ensure success of assigned marketing campaigns
  • Manage E-mail production schedules and deadline
  • Develop, document and work with cross-functional teams to execute contact strategy and segmentation plan
  • Manage email budget, develop KPI?s for success measurement and ROI
  • Gather E-mail campaign results. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver reporting for all email campaigns illustrating effectiveness
  • Deliver ad-hoc as well as maintain email marketing reports requested by management
  • Drive and monitor the development of email file growth strategy via Contribute to CRM strategy and overall database growth
  • Work with brand, IMT and ESP to develop and execute an optimization plan for existing email database
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop, implement and measure weekly testing procedures to determine best practices
  • Plan and implement marketing materials/projects as well as facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Provide direction and support to the ecommerce Marketing team; continually monitor and report on project progress in email plan and weekly update meeting

  • Understanding of experimental email design and a/b testing
  • Drives innovation by discovering alternative approaches to resolve obstacles
  • Prior experience in developing, managing and executing a comprehensive email program and reporting on required results
  • Demonstrated knowledge in working with a tier one email service provider
  • High comfort level with advanced Excel. Fluency in Word and PowerPoint preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise with database segmentation strategy and planning
  • Need to be an excellent communicator in both written and oral formats for a wide range of audiences
  • Analytical skills, and the ability to compile, analyze and leverage performance data to both optimize current business and identify new opportunities
  • Working knowledge of pre-campaign, reputation and inbox monitoring tools required; knowledge of Exact Target email suite a plus


  • 3-5 years experience in Customer Relationship Marketing preferred
  • A minimum of two years of experience in creating, executing, maintaining, and analyzing marketing strategies
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with basic software programs including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or Marketing or equivalent experience
