Email Marketing Manager

Aquent’s large D.C. association client is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager for its D.C. area office. The Email Marketing Manager will leverage the client’s email channel and consistently grow online traffic and engagement. The Email Marketing Manager also will be tasked with implementing an aggressive acquisition and retention strategy for the client online by managing multiple house lists that demonstrate ongoing relevancy to its customer base.

The Email Marketing Manager will:
• Assist the Senior Marketing Manager with the development and implementation of email newsletter strategic plans including acquisition campaigns to grow the email list size
• Execute and optimize email campaigns for seven distinct newsletter lists and other campaigns to ensure programs are in line with objectives and expectations
• Prepare, test and execute campaigns for Health, Travel, Money, Leisure, En Espanol, Welcome Email and Daily News Alert lists with the goal of converting non-responders to active users to increase pageviews to the client’s website and drive other actions such as increased customer membership join/renew activity
• Identify and recommend opportunities for improved segment performance by subscriber type (active, passive, inactive)
• Coordinate email calendar to meet desired execution dates, maximize the audience, and minimize conflict
• Manage & optimize acquisition campaigns in both paid and non-paid, external and in-house
• Work with the client’s customers to implement campaigns and obtain necessary approvals from stakeholders including legal
• Liaise with internal groups on their promotional needs and to identify opportunities for furthering the client’s diverse brand message
• Analyze and report on campaign performance on a weekly and monthly basis
• Identify trends and opportunities for improved open, click thru and conversion rates
• Work with product management and IT services to improve email subscription processes and other on-site improvements to facilitate list growth

EMAIL MARKETING MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BS in marketing or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience executing email and direct response campaigns in a marketing/advertising agency or corporate marketing department
• Ability to consistently meet program goals and hit performance metrics if not exceed them
• Strong understanding of email communication strategies -- both written and visual, deliverability, and segmentation practices
• Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience using email distribution and reporting applications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong project management and Microsoft office
• Able to multi task in a high paced fluid environment while ensuring deliverables are met within assigned deadlines.
