Email Marketing Manager

 Manage email marketing campaigns end-to-end, including planning, targeting,

set-up, testing execution, reporting and optimization.

 Determines target audience, devises campaign, and launches email campaign to

create buzz or generate leads for the business.

 Champion continuous advancement of our email features and capabilities

including targeting, personalization and template development in collaboration

with multiple stakeholders: development teams, designers, business teams and


 Reviews email marketing content for accurate grammar and factual information.

 Ensures messages are sent in proper form and template.

 Uses email analytics to re-define current processes and procedures.

 Provides feedback and analysis to divisions on their email marketing initiatives.

 Assists division users on email creation, segmentation, launch, and analysis.

 Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to


 Strong project management skills: experience coordinating cross-functional

teams, delivering results and meeting tight deadline

Supervisory Responsibilities

The role of the Email Marketing Manager is to plan and execute projects according to

strict deadlines and within budget set by management. This includes acquiring resources

and coordinating the efforts of direct reports, team members and third-party contractors

or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Marketing Project

Manager will oversee direct reports within a digital marketing roles.

 Candidate must be proficient or have working knowledge of:

 Must also have intermediate or working knowledge of the following concepts:

o HTML (email friendly)

o ExactTarget and or Silverpop experience a plus.

o Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver,


o CAN-SPAM Requirements

o Email Best Practices


o Web Analytics (UTM tracking)

o Social Media

 Familiarity with planning, implementing and analyzing online marketing initiatives

across multiple online channels 

Education and/or Experience

 Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two to four

years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education

and experience.

  2+ years of email marketing experience, including strategy, implementation and

analytics and reporting. 

 Knowledge of best practices for email creative and templates, segmentation,

dynamic content, testing methodologies. 

 Strong knowledge of Excel and HTML and ability to learn technical systems and

in-house tools quickly.
