Email Marketing Manager

Are you an experienced email marketing professional interested in taking a small company to the next level? If taking ownership of all email campaigns, including newsletters, prospect nurturing, and customer communications, and being measured against specific customer acquisition targets sounds exciting, then continue reading.

The Email Marketing Manager will come with a proven track record of engaging target audiences through the email channel, growing the subscriber base, and implementing both organic and paid growth strategies. With an existing follower base in the hundreds of thousands, conversion is the immediate goal, with expansion next on the list.

They are a small company and it is important to have a balanced approach between planning and getting things done. This is a hands­-on role. Your work is critical in meeting our aggressive growth targets and the right candidate is jazzed by the challenge. You love writing, are savvy to the latest subject line performance trends, and know exactly what type of content to showcase, and how to showcase it, through the email vehicle. This role reports to the VP of Marketing and will work closely with the Content Marketing Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Work with the Content Marketing Manager and the VP Marketing to optimize the existing flow of emails, including newsletters, auto­-responders, and sales and support templates.
Take ownership of the entire email vehicle, making recommendations on new approaches,including designing and implementing email campaigns across the purchasing cycle.
Writing critical­ to ­conversion copy elements for all emails, including subject lines, opening paragraphs, feature blurbs etc. You will work with a copywriter who delivers the meat of the content, you’re the person bringing sizzle.
Introducing new email templates, incorporating best practices for conversion in layout, colours, headline usage, and calls to action
Go deep on email performance statistics, identifying the correlation between behavior of the receiver and conversion to our software platform. You will be ruthlessly focused on conversion to signup, while contributing to improved adoption rates for users.

Your Profile and Qualifications:
5+ years of marketing experience, any roles
2+ years of email marketing management ownership
1+ year working with SaaS­based solutions

Proof of growing a subscriber base, not only through delivery of the highest ­value emails in our market, but also by recommending programs designed to increase the subscriber list

Track record of delivering results to the bottom­ line: it’s not about a marketing activity scorecard, it’s about revenue and customers

Ability to build out an effective approach for engaging prospects through email, with proof of connecting efforts to the bottom line

Experiences working across a breadth of email types, including newsletters, nurture campaigns, auto­ responders, sales and support templates

Experiences reaching a variety of email recipients, including organically acquired, rentals/purchases, third party advertising campaigns

Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Hands­on experiences email management tools (Constant Contact preferred)
Passion, Integrity, and Energy
Design experiences an asset i.e. HTML, template and email creation
Project Management background considered an asset e.g PMP, ITIL
